I'm listening to it. They didn't really say it like that. They just said he's still there so they'd expect him to take training tomorrow. That's the way I took it - I don't think it was meant to be some insider knowledge.
He should be saying bye to the players. What does it actually take for us to get rid of someone? Other clubs just ****ing do it. We string it out.
The big problem is getting a replacement. I dare say that there are loads of managers who would want to manage Newcastle but not at this moment, with the current regime and current environment. So saying Yes now would mean almost guaranteed failure and then that would be that person's one and only chance to manage the club and that opportunity would be wasted. And saying No now would mean that that person is going to be overlooked the next time there's a vacancy. The only way out of this would be to have talks and hope that they break down. And all of which takes time. I can see this dragging out until the end of the season.
I don't know. I reckon there will be quite a few fancy working under the current regime if they get the deal Steve did. Be on the board, pick the direction the club goes in, pick your own players, get backed in every window, spend 85m, pick your own backroom team. Its pretty much a stellar gig Steve landed. He has just royally arsed it up. Whether Mike will fancy giving the next guy the same rope to hang himself with is another question. You'd need someone looking longer than this season. And you'd need Mike to continue on the current path regardless what happens. They are fairly big asks in the modern game.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Ashley gives McClaren an extension on his contract. Ashley = ****ing dimwit
Meeting in York without Tufty, apparently according to the Telegraph, Charnley doesn't want to sack him but Ashley furious about things and he will be sacked tomorrow.
He's actually a Manc. And a ****. The "Betting suspended" on Moyes was a Twitter hoax. He's 6/4 fav. Guess we'll see tomorrow. Or not.
