If she had said she is not willing to go to court I believe that it would have been enough for the case to be dropped..

Nope. That's the 'greater public interest' part. She was a witness on behalf of the CPS, they'd have still prosecuted.

They almost certainly wouldn't have got a conviction on the kissing/touching but they'd have had him bang to rights on grooming from the moment they had that phone.

well I think without her testament and the ridiculous court costs that a none conviction entails then this case would have been dismissed.

The way I see it is that the defence had a few witnesses lined up for a not guilty on all charges and these people would have bent the truth for a full not guilty plea. The fact that Johnson pleaded guilty on day 1 to two of the charges made people have a massive re-think, ie Fletcher and maybe Byrne about what they were going to say in court and the consequences for fabricating ****e that might follow, so they legged it..

I think it's been proved that AJ is a sexual Walter Mitty and I think that hit home a lot of his witnesses, once the guilty pleas went in on the first two charges.

Margaret Byrne must really hate the twat now but if you play in Walter's world then expect some of the fallout..

    Just my opinion mind..<ok>

He would have been convicted of grooming the child, no lawyer in the world is going to get him off that charge with the texts that have been revealed. The CPS wouldn't drop a case they're 100% certain of winning, he simply had to go on the sex offenders register.

It's all academic anyhow, you couldn't sack him until he was proven guilty of at least one of his charges.

This entire debate shouldn't include 'should have sacked', you never had the opportunity to sack him, but he should have stayed suspended, regardless of whether senior officials had access to the transcripts from his interviews.

Well I think things would have panned out differently, and I certainly don't go with you on the suspension, so will have to agree to differ on this..

Well it wouldn't have panned out differently in terms of him being a convicted sex offender.

Sunderland's chief exec might have **** the bed here, you'll not find me shoving it down your throat but avid fans attempting to cover the woman's tracks for her, whilst she sits in complete silence in another country, that's what's happening here.

You're doing what I'd do, I'd defend my club as well, there's nothing wrong with that but it doesn't mean your club have done the right thing because you've convinced yourself they have.

We don't know that fella, which is why the minutes of the meeting with AJ's lawyers and the PFA need to be relieved. The PFA have been more evasive than Byrne. Their statement was an absolute joke and received no heat at all yet they're AJ's legal employment representative. They are central to this too.

The CP can drop a case any time if their judgement believes a case is too weak. Hindsight though it's not even relevant. Sorry fella, oversize that a bit. Not shouting though <laugh>

It was said in court she hid her phone originally. Texts were obtained from the network not her phone. Not till much later that they did her phone forensics, it was adjourned twice cause of this. Again not relevant now <laugh>

Don't want to throw a spanner in the works here, I'm to ****ed up for that after 7 years but wasn't it her friend that lost her phone because she wanted it for her holiday's or did they both make them conveniently disappear?

I might be wrong like but it doesn't alter the fact that AJ is a sexual uncontrollable ****** and his dad is certainly not a fighter but only that sackless **** could have spawned devious boy..:emoticon-0102-bigsm:eek:

Well given both AJ and the Girl told lies from start to finish, forgive me but I don't believe a word either of them say. They've both drawn out this process and cost the tax payers millions in the process from not being straight. The nonce will get his comeuppance though so there is that.

I've read them all mate (your quotes) I'll just quote this one. The point is, CP would drop the charges, not the girl. I wasn't aware that she never handed the phone over to be honest.

Like you say it's academic, but to the best of my knowledge no Union can lift a suspension with a criminal court case hanging over the accused, especially if he's suspended on full pay, they're a sports organisation, they're not God!

Defo, but the lass will become a millionaire. Personally, the second somebody lies to a court if think they should share costs. She should be made to pay most of her compo back into the system for the lies she's told and it should cost AJ everything. But they'll both probably see out their lives on a beach out of the country paying into a different economy. Britain is the biggest loser in this case. Folk may disagree and they're entitled to but I think they've both made mugs of the country.

I agree with you 100% and no doubt it will be 2 other flimsy, plastic, spineless sods doing it next month, who treat the spawning of a child as a hiccup in their sad lives..

No wonder IS and the rest of the greasy ****ers, fancy their chances with the 'new breed' in the UK..

My shed is strictly out of bounds to women, besides what do you take me for? I'd never dream of dating a woman in my shed I'm chivalrous and traditional, I'd court a lady properly and take her to the local for half a Mild and then finger her at the bus stop.
