A man was killed after arguing with a friend over whether Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo was the best footballer in the world. Nigerian national Michael Chukwuma, 21, stabbed 34-year-old compatriot Obina Durumchukwu in a Mumbai suburb, Indian police said. The incident took place following a party on Saturday night. "They were discussing football players. One is a fan of Messi and the other was for Ronaldo," a police inspector said. "During the conversation a quarrel has taken place. The deceased threw a glass into the face of the accused person. The glass broke and caused small injuries. "After that the accused took the broken glass and assaulted the deceased person who died due to heavy bleeding." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35744036
I imagine a lot of people on here would have killed each other by now if they met in real life. These two jokers will probably have never seen either player play in real life, typical glory seeking twonks
I doubt the attacker was the Messi fan - a Messi fan would have covered his tax. Sorry, typo - I meant TRACKS.
Seeing Ronaldo roaring like a bain last night as he got knobbled, and hearing the brutish hoi polloi jeering their disdain, I saw him in a new light. The bloke cares. He wants to play. And win. And be the best. To get there, he has practised like **** esp. his freekicks and his leaping/heading. Ask James Chester. He has got big character defects too. Bit sly, vain and thin-skinned, but he wears his heart in his sleeve football-wise. Then look at our own ****ers. Ronaldo earns more than a million a month, but you can bet he won't be tweeting pix of his kitchen when he gets home or splashing out on a new tat when the tournament finishes . Shame people don't focus on his will to win and hard work rather than his blubbing and pouting. It's the consolation of ****s.
I know Ronaldo is incredibly gifted, machine-like and completely shaved of all bodyhair but... I personally preferred watching your more overweight, ungainly and normal looking players in the 90s who, out of nothing, could produce a moment of brilliance (if they could be arsed). Le Tissier Gascoigne Beardsley Cantona Windass There was something more enjoyable in it. Football has become about being elite specimens as well as incredibly gifted, takes some of the fun out of it for me. Just what I think.
Was going to mention Cantona as someone similar to Ronaldo. Imperfect character, but last one off the training ground, aiming to be as good as he could get.
At least only one was killed, in 1983 I flew on Colombian airline Avianca from Bogata to Madrid. I few week late the same plane crashed at Madrid airport killing most of the passengers, amazingly some survived. It was reported later that is was pilot error and whether it was true or not, it was said the cause of the crash was that the pilot and co-pilot were arguing about football at the time.
