In an attempt to get the MK Dons defeat fully out of my system, I am focusing positive energy on the potential team selection for Tuesday’s home match against Derby. I admit that the team selection is quite tricky as our recent very solid back four was “reshuffled” with the Hall injury, which almost immediately changed the game (for the worse!). I doubt that Hall will be available and as a result, I would focus on selecting a solid back four. Key for me would be the fullback positions and I would definitely not play Konchesky as LB, but Perch. At RB I would plumb for Henry remembering that he played surprisingly well there under Neil Warnock. For the offensive formation I would return to the team that was victorious against Birmingham (assuming that they are match fit). Thus my choice would be: ------------------------------Smithies------------------------------- --Henry -----------Onuoha----------Angella------------Perch-- -------------- --Luongo---------------------Faurlin--------- -------Phillips----------------Chery ---------------------Hoillet--- ---------------------------------Polter-------------------------------- I am sure that there are many other options, plus no doubt Jimmy will surprise us “again”.
Polter sounds as though he made a difference when he came on so deserves another start but I would like to see Washington break his duck.
He'll probably keep a losing team instead of a winning one!! Or continue with his lotto balls method!
It was "harsh" to drop Polter. We could very easily go 4-4-2 and play both Polter and Washington. The risk always is getting run over in mid-field, but it is certainly an option at home, especially as we do have options on which players to choose for the midfield, e.g: ------------------------------Smithies------------------------------- --Henry -----------Onuoha----------Angella---------Perch-- ------Phillips----Luongo----------Faurlin-------Hoillet----- ----------------Washington -------Polter------------------------- As already mentioned, we do have options. The question is "which option will be most effective?"
Matty and Polter were ill in the week Hoillet's wife had had a baby The MK team makes sense ...the lack of fight by the team that came out in the second half does not
Hoilett is taking extended paternity leave. Quite like the OP's team actually. The XI that started the second half on Saturday could ship four or five against Derby.
Even though he regularly surprises me with his team selections, I can't see JFH playing Henry at RB, although I can see the sense in that. Given that he doesn't seem to like our younger options, I think he will bring Konchesky back in. Other than that, I like the team in the OP, although Nasser must be in with a shout of being in the starting eleven in place of Junior. Nevertheless, I expect the JFH tombola will result in all of us being wrong, not for the first time.
**** knows!! It seems the JFH just puts the names in a hat and draws them out! Nearly 4,000 Rangers fans at MK and he changes things around from the previous week when we'd played well. Our fans are totally taken for granted. The team could be anything and I really can't be arsed to second guess clueless Jimmy.
To me its about getting the players focused, confident and actually trying to enjoy it. The way its all about formations etc baffles me. JFH sets up differently away even to teams at the bottom and thats why hes pis*** us off because there was no need to have two holders plus Luongo and change the team last Saturday. TBH I think I'll be more annoyed if we play well again tomorrow with a decent team and formation because it shows he is effin it up and inexperienced. I know times have changed but to me the like of JFH have got bogged down with todays tactics and formation. I played Conference football and one Manager used to say "dont worry lads its just 11 arseholes v 11 arseholes" before we went out............
