I would put McLaren on suspension on full pay until end of season for gross misconduct (think the performances against Stoke and Bournemouth clearly fall into that category) and then bring someone in for 10 games only with a whopping bonus if they keep us up.
If he does keep us up make him Manager and move McLaren up to Director of Football, if we go down bring McLaren back and judge him on his next 12 games (again!).
Alternatively find some girl that he fiddled with in a car park and get rid of him that way.

Honestly those matches looked like matchfixing to me. Especially Taylor and Lascalles backing off at the end. Very suspect.

I will gladly pray to the earth that David Moyes works on. At least he's an actual football manager. Like I said, I think he could simply scare a couple of performances out of these clowns.

Firstly I would say that I have to agree with Shearer, our club is mismanaged from the top down, I don't know of any other Managing Director that consistently performs at the lower end of any leagues and gets the backing of the Boardroom/Shareholders. If we get a new manager/coach we would need the likes of Moyes, Rodgers, H Rednap, or Benitez for things to change as I believe they would insist on complete control over who they hire or move on - a real manager with a budget, I also believe that Pearson would be more willing to accept a role of coach - therefore no change in setup. Come on Mike, even as a business package it doesn't look very good when we struggle every year.

Moyes, Benitez, Rodgers and Pearson all strongly rumoured today.

Also some rumours that we may be stuck with McClaren, may be true as Charnley appointed him, stuck by him, and he sacks him now he's going to have to admit he appointed a walking disaster. Coud cost Charnley his job as well.

Of the 4 above Benitez on a short term contract to the end of the season with a big bonus if we stay up would be my pick, strongly dislike Pearson, Rodgers is unlikley to do much for us, and Moyes's recent failures make him somewhat off putting.

Rumours of Llambias coming back....could be the end for penfold :). Pearson till the end of the season for me, although I'm sure he took the club to a tribunal a few years back so he's probably pissed on his chips! Benitez next season if we stay up, Moyes if we go down !

Here's my prediction - another day of infuriating rumour and silence. Behind the scenes, meanwhile, that hapless fckwit Charnley makes a few phone calls to his preferred option list; Venables, Hoddle, Curbishley and Megson. Charnley's inability to communicate in basic English leaves even Megson not interested, so after several panic attacks Charnley will come out tomorrow, maybe even later in the week, with a "nothing to see here, we stand by our managers" type official announcement. This will of course be done via email to avoid any of those nasty journalists asking their mean questions.

Benitez for me like but you can rule anyone of any ilk out, so its pointless.

Just hope schteve keeps us up, fire him then and see who will come.

People are going to laugh or thinking Im joking when I say Tim Sherwood, yeah the guy is a clown and his interiews are a joke, but I would like to see him come in as an interim manager until the end of the season on the basis, that for a short period he did well with both Spurs and Villa, he was then given fund to purchase players at Villa and theres where is all started going wrong! but on a interim basis he could come in and make some sharp changes and really try and lift the spirit/confidence of the team in a short period of time.

I dont agree with it in any way, but its clear the players are lacking confidence and I think someone like Nigel Pearson is to much of a risk, he's a bit hard and a disciplinarian and although the players should grow a F ing spine, i dont believe pearson's what we need right now. Despite the players getting £1000's in salaries each week, the hard approach could go one way or the other.

Im also not sure with Brendan and Moyes, I dont believe they will be at all interested and if they are it probably wont be until the end of the season, should we stay up!

Fact of the matter is, the players need Moddycoddling until the end of the season. If Moyes, Brendan and Rafa arent prepared to take the job whilst the club are in such a precarious position, what would you do?

Ive heard a lot worse suggestions, Redknapp, Glen Hoddle, Di Canio, Kinnear

I don't think he is available - also he would get crucified by our fans.

We don't need to appoint a new long term manager right now, we need someone who can take the last ten games and save our bacon.
Long term l would love to see Rafa
Short term saviour needs to be more of an arse kicker, who isn't going to be afraid of dropping our so called star purple players if they are underperforming lazy sods. We need to take action to survive, have the long term manager ready at the start of the summer to bring in the players he wants, he needs sufficient funds and the club must not repeat the mistakes of giving worn out has beens short term extensions, eg Taylor, Colocini, etc get rid of the dross and trouble makers, even if it means paying them off.
We must, must truly start afresh. Same thing with Penfold and Carr your numbers up. All needs showing the door.

I fully expected to wake up to the news that the CLOWN had been sacked!! The fact that we have not heard that yet leads me to believe that they fully intend to keep the useless fcukwit till the end of the season.. I give up Mike, you have won, I now hate this team. You deserve relegation, however us fans do not but we are powerless to intervene in your inept management of our once beloved club.

I HOPE YOU DIE AND SUFFER HORRIBLY..!!

Luke Edwards (NE correspondent for Daily Telegraph) has tweeted

"I don't want to spread panic but I've been told this morning that someone in a key position at SJP doesn't want to sack Steve McClaren"

I reckon that person is Steve McClaren, maybe they require a unanimous decision by the board and Scteve is the only one in disagreement

Someone on the Sunderland board just commented that he is that useless he would probably vote for his own sacking.

If he had an ounce of dignity or integrity left he would, but I honestly think he believes he is one good result from a turnaround! but that hasnt worked for him all season!

I too expected to get up this morning and read that he was gone. The fact this has not yet happened worries me greatly.
They cannot stick with him based on current performances and hope to survive.
If an announcement is not made today then l fear the worst.
Should they take the decision to keep him onboard, then there is only one retort we as fans can make.
MASS WALKOUT, no one should continue to attend matches.
Now l know there are those who say the following
We support no matter what, fine loyal sentiment, we will be relegated and drop down the Championship like a stone.
Walkouts and protesting does no good Ashkey does not care, Ashkey does not listen. I don't agree, he didn't come out from under his veil before the zest Ham match for no good reason, he did not put his hand in his pocket and change the glorious plan, for no reason.
It was negative publicity and fear, that's what did it and it can do it again.
If ever there was a reason to Unite on mass then surely this is it, our predicament is worse than last season.
If they don't act, Stay Away!
