Since when has GC not welcomed people here, I thought that is what this place is about, it's only you with the issue, such as when you threaten to bombard the site with porn in an attempt to get rid of alwaysright, now your telling me to **** off. Do one prick and for a change try and have some knowledge to engage in a conversation instead of being a leech on the back of others or hiding your subtle digs behind others <ok>

If the other GC members don't want me on here then fine I'll stay away but it will not be on your say so Toby.

Lots of folks reckon on needing a shorter neck, jumbo frets, slinky strings etc. I see a lot of lassies with Telecasters so maybe there is something about them that favours the shorter fingers.

I think I probably picked the wrong guitar to start with, it is a Dreadnought size accoustic which I have to grapple like a bear to get my arms around, probably should have tried out a few before buying but the local guitar shop is full of hipsters with beards and skinny jeans who make me feel like a sad old tart. I can only imagine the horror of going into a shop like that knowing only 2 chords and asking some pimply youth what he'd recommend. I'd end up buying a ukelele.

Guitars are essentially for ugly bastards with no chance of pulling a decent bird, other than the 'in a band/play my acoustic under a tree in a park' schtick, or for those with minimal social skills who need something to do alone that isn't crying, ****ing, or plotting killing sprees.

Fact of the day: Thomas Hamilton was a guitarist.

I am an ugly bastard true, but guitarists get all the minge that the lead singer doesn't want, then the bass player has what is left and when he's done the keyboard player takes over and when the roadies have finished with the dreggs what is left is given to the drummer. Too old to bother getting good enough to do the whole band thing again, I just want to strike a few poses and knock out a tune or two.

Drums are the down's syndrome of band instruments. Guitars are for ugly bastards. Lead singer is for self-obsessed, boring ****ers. Bass is for failed guitarists who are happy being the most uninteresting member of the line-up. Keyboardists are homosexuals.

Get a ukelele. George Formby was an ugly bastard and he was forced to beat off the minge with a ****ty stick.

If poor digit genetics do turn out to be an insurmountable obstacle, you always have the option of learning slide. Vintage Gibson SGs are ideally suited for this. Check out Derek Trucks tearing it up in the solo at the end of this video

That's played on open E, same tuning as Allman Bros etc.
