Is he ****. Just because he agreed with you that it was a penalty (although he doesn't agree with your embarrassing "stonewall" claim) doesn't mean he was right
I still stand by my own opinion, I thought it was harsh at first, I watched the replays and I continue to think it's harsh now. I disagree with the stone wall comments, if that had been given against us I'd be absolutely fuming. Definitely a 50/50 decision, fortunately for us we got the rub of the green!
Doesn't come on here anymore, and if he does it's just to browse, but even that's fairly rare. We scared him off I think Ps - where is you father?!
It's not the definition of the word at all. Stone wall because it's a strong barrier. However, someone misuses it, others like it and adopt it through ignorance, the incorrect usage spreads and eventually the meaning changes. Like midrift and laxadaisical (commentators use these atrocities frequently). But we all know I'm a right Cnut when it comes to the linguistic tide.
You ever watched Dave Gorman? A comedian that loves these things. My "gecko" comment was from his show. People wanting to say "from the get go" but thinking it's "from the gecko"
I've seen some of his shows, but not all of them. I don't think I saw that one. I do like language though, and the opportunity to be creative and funny with it. I just hate to see it mangled through lack of awareness, but I realise not everyone cares that much. I know being picky can come across as condescending, but I don't really mean it that way. Anyway. I'm off to me pit now. All this arguing has worn me out. And it wasn't even with Diego or Treble this time.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/alan-pardew-fumes-over-late-7506734 Pardew! Did you cry, did you cry, did you cry at Selhust Park? Did you cry at Selhurst Park?
And can't you tell that Jim White is a Clog-sparker? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-meal-of-it-to-give-ten-men-Reds-victory.html Bitter - moi? He can't even summon the grace to admit that ten-man Liverpool played better than 11 man Palace for the final 15 minutes. And then he had to watch Uniturd on the telly.
Lol you lot still talking about the penalty? It's a penalty - there was clear contact and Benteke was running at pace. Anywhere else on the pitch, it's a foul. Just to wind Gez up further, Flanno was hoisted in the second half to spare him further roasting. In all seriousness, a really strange performance. We started well but then lost control and lucky to stay in the game. A really embarrassing goal to concede yet again from a set piece - how many loose balls can we possibly lose in one passage?? Then the sending off and we stepped up - a player who polarises opinion is Can but I thought he stepped up after the sending off. He often gets criticised because he dwells on the ball (and rightly so) but his role is much more than just supporting the attack. The amount of defensive work he gets through each game is unrivalled in our team. One of the few who was able to physically match Palace. There were other positive performances - after a tough first half, Lovren was much better in the second half and hardly anything came down that right hand side which was troublesome in the first half. Sakho was solid as well and Moreno was decent. Origi is developing well under Klopp and is playing with a lot of intelligence. Benteke's cameo was impressive as well, there were a few smart runs and I loved his penalty. Disappointed with Henderson and Milner (as per usual, but also Lallana and Firmino who were quiet. I did enjoy Firmino's goal though - looked quite simple at first look but the ball is fizzed in at him at pace but gets it under control and cooly slots it away. Not the best performance but 3 big points - 3 PL wins on the bounce and we're in form team in the league. Top 4 is still an outside chance but I want us to finish this season strongly and build momentum into the next season.
