In typical Arsenal fashion, a season of being title challengers, has turned into a fight for top 4. After going on a dreadful run of 2 league wins out of 9, we find ourselves truly out of title contention now dropping 8 points behind Leciester. Our bad run of form has also seen other clubs catch up to us, West Ham are only 2 points below us now, City with a game in hand will go above us should they win it, and United will also go 2 points behind us should they win tomorrow. Such an exciting end to the league season, it seems we are forever destined to always fight for top 4.
Could be a strange year next year with West Ham, Leciester, and Spurs all in the Champions League, nobody would ever expect those 3 teams representing England at one go.
It would be very strange but very exicting. I can see some very bruised egos at the of the season. Liverpool, unless the win the EL, Chelsea even if the win the FA Cup, and one from Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United being outside the CL. One or two those might not even be in Europe. Let the fun continue, good luck to West Ham in their quest for European football and someone like Everton in the FA Cup then the EL place would go to 5th and 6th.
Hopefully West Ham don't crash and burn in the play offs if they got 4th, like Everton did in 2005. That will do nobody any favours in terms of coefficient points.
It would be like a much needed reset for the CL. At least when the likes of Newcastle were qualifying (or even Spurs that one time) there wasn't the same cynical approach. They may not make it past the group stages but at least they'll add a bit of freshness to those set of 6 games. Sometimes naivity is better than strategy. Fck me the group stages are dull at the moment.
Talks to try and stitch the CL up for the 'Big' clubs http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/mar/02/premier-league-clubs-breakway-meeting
Insiders from each club insisted they met relatively regularly, often with Tottenham Hotspur also present
I am under no illusions that Spurs would not seek to be part of it. I hope they wouldn't but MONEY rules.
11 points behind Leciester now, as I said, we are in a fight for top 4, only 2 points above West Ham who are in 5th, and City also breathing down our necks. lol, how pathetic, but so typical from Arsenal, who go from challengers, to a fight for top 4, it's always the same story. And just for the idiots who say it can done, just to add perspective, Chelski are 12 points behind us, so if we can catch with Leciester, why can't Chelski catch up to us? If you were to ask the delusional brigade if they think Chelski can catch us they will be emphatic that no way they can, but then when we're 11 points behind Leicester, and on worst form than Chelski, for some strange reason the morons think we can do it. lol. funny.
On another thread you said you wanted Leicester to win...if they had lost they'd have been 8 points ahead of you but you'd have had a game in hand! It's like you don't want your team to win the title cos then you won't get your wish of getting rid of Wenger. Each to their own but seems ****ing weird to me!
Yes, because we have no chance in hell, u say 8 points like it's nothing, Leicester mucking up at this point only benefits you not us, we may be 3rd, but we are so not in the title race, we are hanging onto third by the edges of our balls against West Ham-City and United not too far off.
Wenger be like, I believe in ze spirit and ze mental strength of the team. lol. can't wait till he pisses off.
