In which case, give one of the academy nippers a shot instead.

**** me! I've just read pages 11-14 of this thread and then stopped reading. I'm a little stunned to be honest.

I went today expecting a dour Sunderland side that would do a typical fat Sam job. I was right but the performance was nowhere need as bad as you miserable bastards on here were saying.

First half there was some great play from Bertrand and Tadic and we create a couple of chances down the left. That's against a very hard working Sunderland side too by the way. There were some moments of sloppy passing and times when we struggled to break them down, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as what I've read on here. Really wasn't.

I thought Pelle did well (he was fouled a lot) and although he did have a couple of Pelle classic bad touches, generally he did OK holding it up and laying it off. Yes, I said Pelle was ok :)

I thought Martina had an excellent second half. Yes he was asleep for the goal but Defoe is the maser at drifting off people to find a yard of space.

One thing, is that you have to take your hat off to Sunderland. They worked their socks off and I actually thought they played well. Their keeper had a great game too.

I expected some moaning, but not the dross I've read so far. Admittedly I gave up after page 14, but it was killing me.

What you lot need is some really, really, really positive pills, a night out with me, or a super positive match day thread.

Get a grip. It wasn't that bad.

Absolutely agree. Those who expected anything different really don't understand football or watch other teams regularly. I think a lot of people must have looked at the league table his morning and thought, "ah Sunderland are 4th from no ttom and we beat them 8-0 last time. Easy"

    Football ain't like that.

I am inclined to agree with you Sam seemed to have organised his teams performance to a tee, but then he dropped a clanger by taking Kirchhoff off and they seemed to lose their shape, had we started the game like we finished it we would have slaughtered them.

Well that's never going to happen with RK at the helm, none are good enough allegedly. I can't see him blooding any young players because he seems so stubborn in his belief in the players he brought to the club in the summer.

Still think we need a mini clear out. Then bring in width and attacking players. It's ok having hard working players, but sometimes that isn't enough.

How do you explain Olomola on the bench today, had we been 8 - 0 up he might have got 5 minutes?

Sell all the first team?? That's more negative than tintin - at least he was only advocating changing the manager...

Sell fonte? Davis? You're actually mad if you think selling that many players would help. What we need is those experienced players to STAY in the dressing room. We just need them to play to their potential.

I was thinking this is finally a summer where we DONT go throw wholesale change - as the big boys will target other clubs

They have hard workers along side very talent players. They have the percentages right we don't.

Only reason I would be tempted is because of his wages. I would like us to bring in a first team cb to play next to Dijk. Fonte being back up or rotated is fine by me.

    Wanyana
    Mane
    Pelle

Will almost certainly leave, whether we like it or not. That is why they are on the list.

    Davis is getting on.

Gardos/Yoshida are ok for fourth choice. But then we have a few good young cbs.

Martina contract is nearly up. He was only brought in because Mugabi was injured.

    So nope not really negative.

There is no cure available if you are a miserable disbeliever. You have to keep the faith or walk away before it really starts to hurt.

Just got back from N'castle- Bournemouth match. Can see why Bourne gave us a hard time. They took Newcastle apart for most of the game. Ran around like maniacs. If you think Saints are in a bad place, try a trip to Tyneside. They aren't happy with the owner, the manager, the team and Sunderland are pulling away. Not happy campers. Today's game ended like I thought, but I expected us to score first then concede a last minute goal. We are an average team that occasionally rises to the more than adequate. Still better than a dozen other teams. Onward and upwards, or at least not downwards.

Would be great if Two Bobs' bionic implants did the trick and he rises to occasion.

If mane and tadic played to their potential then we possibly could have been higher. The only time they have was Norwich at home. Tore Norwich apart that day! Also see Chelsea away...

I've just read this after I posted to you above.

We lost. Three in a row. You're back.

Please don't give me anything of what you're taking as it's obviously drawing you towards a dangerous negative spiral.

I'll stay the happy me and look forward to those negheads who only appear when we have a bad run.

Rather be me than you mate <ok>
