Virgil van Dijk moves into a tie for fourth in the team in league goals this year.

Kinda laughing at all the "lost at home"/"zero points"/"can't believe we've lost to Sunderland" posts now.

I don't think we deserved to lose that. Yeah, we were pretty cack, but a draw is about right.

Christ, I'd hate to be a Newcastle fan (let alone Villa). Newcastle with the money they've spent though *shakes head*.

    Fair enough.

Not sure we deserved a point there, and I am usually the first to give us the benefit of the doubt. Hey ho.

Feel like I'm reading a load of GMI and TinTin spam accounts. Mostly surprised that I'm surprised.

Well, the laughter you get from that might make up for the total vacuum of entertainment watching us will provide.

Agreed. We weren't very good today, but people acting like we were horrendous and lucky to steal a point are going overboard. Draw was a fair result. Which is disappointing against Sunderland but still.

Still a very crap game. I'm not going to say we are doomed or anything like that. But we do need a mini clear out.

Exactly this. It was poor, no doubt, but we weren't significantly worse than a blistering Sunderland and did a smash and grab for a point. It was two very average sides battling out a dull draw.

Pelle, mane, cocu IMO. If Tadic has an attitude problem, then him too.

Someone on here saying the Saints need a clearout. Rumour has it that Real Madrid are looking to do the same. Could any of their players be within our price range?

Isn't it the words "dull" and "average" that people are moaning about? In fact, I am pretty sure "dull" is just about the most consistently used adjective in the thread...

You can't expect victory, but you can expect to play decent, entertaining football.

I'm less interested in the clear out than who we'd bring in tbh. Mane is definitely more £4m than £40m at the moment, but if he's one of the leavers, we really need to bring in genuine quality this time around to replace players like that.

It was the posts saying that we'd lost again at home and zero points to Sunderland that I was referring to. Complaining about being dull and average is fair enough. Deciding a result when it's 1-0 with four minutes left to play is just bizarre.

I cannot think of many games where we have played really well this season except the Arsenal and Chelsea games. I don't think we are terrible but we do rely on being solid and attacking on the counter plus we were spoiled by all the exciting football in the previous few seasons and we have lost some very talented players.

We have a solid team but little outstanding consistent talent.

My issue is that the football was such a hideous embarrassment I no longer cared about the score anyway. I have never not cared about an equaliser in my life - and I didn't care about that one. Such turd. Such a step back.

And I am not sure you can blame the players...

Pellé isn't fit to lace Lambert's boots. I hope we're going into the new season without him being in Plan A.

He frustrates me so, so much.
