Any of you f*cknuckles play the gitbox?

Trying to learn but my sausage fingers are a real obstacle. Anyone know of a decent electric guitar for those of a stumpy nature? Gambol got any ideas?

I want a Gibson SG like him out of AC/DC, reckon I'd be drowning in 'tang if I could knock out a decent tune on one of those. As long as I could play Back in Black or Whole Lotta Rosie I'd be chuffed.

Do what I did, learn the bass. If you have really stumpy fingers you could buy a short scale model.

I can knock out a decent tune on the bass already. I am also the worlds foremost drummer and piggy digits were no problem there. It's just some of the chords (C major springs to mind) means stretching my porkers too far.

My son plays guitar rather well and he's always on at me trying to teach me chords, I genuinely can't be arsed learning a new instrument especially when I get just as much fun playing bass. Look at the geezer from "Royal Blood" for example, with the right effects you can bash out a rare old riff on a bass.

Learn to play slide guitar instead, no chords required... assuming at least one of those sausage fingers can be squeezed into a bottle neck.

ER will be along later to tell us John Peel was a nonce. But he was a huge part of my musical education.

Don't be silly. You can't play Stairway To Heaven on a pint of lager.

Stuff like Em you could just try one finger across two strings. Maybe you could use the same idea for the C major but as a bar chord. Otherwise look for another guitar with a narrower neck.

More importantly you may just need to improve the angle of your hand/wrist <whistle>
