Blaydon Races was sung (with a few word changes of course) by Sunderland fans until recent years and certainly wouldn't wind our fans up..

Matt Targett talking about enjoying his wing back role. Perhaps he was the one we missed against Bournemouth? I'm glad for the lad....he looked okay when he came into the team at first, but then was dropped and scarcely played....now he is a good fit in our style change. On the other hand, Tadic rarely starts now. Just shows how a player may fit one team and not another. Look at Ramirez at Boro.

 

I think that just about matches the dirge that comes out at the Fratton Stands, "Blue Army," "Play up Pompey ..." and "Portsmouth til I die." No wonder I gave up on that club such was the horror that was inflicted on my ears. Best I have heard was River Plate when I saw them against Racing Club BA when I visited the country in 2007. Possibly the best in the PL for originality are Liverpool, Manchester United and the loveable Manchester City. Hope Leicester have added to their repertoire. Much of the rest sound like an inferior version of Chelsea songs.

That Bournemouth performance was so poor, it's hard to feel lifted.
I think we need to see a good offensive performance, because we've not looked like a team capable of scoring more than a goal a game for weeks(and we haven't)

I am busy constructing a protective shell. Our run of wins made us vulnerable and we forgot that we are Saints and capable of anything. Am peeping out from behind my body armour....ever hopeful, but ever prepared. I did warn earlier that this was a rug chewing thread.

 

Don't care about the result. Just want to see us playing some pretty football. Where is the pretty football?
