Sometimes you can't judge players on honours won but more on the individual. Vidic is superior to some distance to Lescott. He's been one of the Premier Leagues best centre backs and is up in the top 10 alongside Terry,Adams,Carragher,Hyypia,Keown,Pallister and Bruce and Colin Hendry and Rio Ferdinand.Lescott wouldn't come close to this list.
looks like Vucinic is closing in on his move to United? What you need? Would he playa "Forlan" role, by that I mean the link between mid and for now that some of the pace has gone? Is he the one to sit behind Rooney or in front? Always rated Vucinic too.........B******s. EDIT: Forlan now, for Uruguay, can play up top but better dropping a bit deeper into the palymaker role.
no, that is a preference, a fact you do not prefer Chelsea because of your opinion of them I think I'm being a dick, am I being a dick? I'm being a dick!
82% of post on this thread have been entirely controversial and unjustified, backed up with stats, which you can always use to support their argument. The other 18% are , or someone calling someone deluded (KPR). Will that do?
Yeah, to be fair I meant we could use it to make up the pay cut they would be facing at another club, say Jovanovic goes to Anderlecht and has to get paid £40k then we'd paid the other £20k with that money for 2 years or whatever. It would be pretty costly but much less so than it is at the moment. I don't think it's very good value if I'm honest mate, it's why I included Agger and Aurelio on the list. They may only be on £50k a week, but the games they play a year it's just not worth it in my opinion. Exactly, it's also the reason why free transfers are rarely 'free' and usually end up costing more than you'd pay for in a £5-10m transfer. My question about this 'search for the right man' is that you've had since 2009 or so to find a new midfielder, it was identified as one of your only weak position even back then. In that time we've seen the likes of Ozil, Sneijder, Van der Vaart and others move for modest fees who, imo, would be perfect for Man Utd yet you didn't make a huge effort to get any of them. My opinion on this is the half-arsed chases for Ozil and Sneidjer were PR moves to appease the fans more than anything as they've been crying out for a creative midfielder for a good 2-3 years now.
Not convinced Bolton 2bh. - bring back footie I think you got me there! - I knew that bloody Fergie was lieing.
All good, I would throw Stam in there instead of carragher, he is the centre back version of gary neville, but with less success and passion
When i think of Roma, the first two names that pop into my head are Totti and Vucinic, probably because they are the best on that team and many would agree. Only problem with him is how much you paying for him as he is 28-30 range if I remember right?
