What about Nigel Pearson as the next manager? Might make the press conferences more interesting if nothing else
I actually think he's a decent manager. Not sure the fanbase would welcome him, but a lot of what Leicester have achieved this year is down t the foundations he laid. Not sure he could have taken them on the same way Ranieri has, but there are worse shouts out there than Pearson.
Pearson in the short term would keep us up. He wouldn't be scared to drop the likes of Sissoko either.
Never liked Pearson, but in terms of needing a thug to yell and at the wasters and tell them how crap they are, he'd be perfect. McClaren's clearly lost the dressing room and is trying to hide it with his constant lame "we deserved more", "i can't fault the players" crap. At least Carver said it how it is, McClaren's clichés are unbearable, I'm just waiting for "we've got 10 cup finals between now and the end of the season" when we lose to Bournemouth on Saturday. Pearson will probably be available on the cheap as well, as he'll be keen to repair his reputation, and if he keeps us up his knob of a son will be totally forgotten. Sadly though I think we're stuck with the clueless brolly-wielder.
The thing that has pissed me off the most about McClaren this week [he does most weeks to be fair but I am extra livid this time] - After Stoke, which myself and plenty of others travelled down to, his bollocks reasoning that but for Jack Butland, we would have got the point that 'we deserved' and that the game was 'cruel.' Excuse the **** out of me but I am pretty sure that for most of the game we resembled San Marino with everyone behind the ball and pretty much spent most of the game passing the ball back to Stoke. We were abysmal, a disgrace. His absolute drivel about everyone fighting for the cause. **** right off. Most of them couldn't have given two ****s. I really hope someone is crazy enough to run on the pitch tomorrow and confront him a la Middlesbrough because he clearly isn't going to **** off of his own accord. It looks less likely that the knacker Charnley has the balls to sack him as well.
Shcteeeve's latest quote, your going to love this! "we have give the St James crowd something to cheer about" This was in ths press conference today. even if everything else was ignored, he should be sacked for this comment alone!
Sacking him will cost ya. You've already spent a lot. Do you see Ashley stumping up more cash this season. Normally would he **** but he has been spending lately.
The prick should do the decent thing and resign. He won't though because he knows it's the last PL job he will ever have.
He gets paid his entire contract no matter what so long as he doesn't quit. That's something that annoys me in the game. Pay offs for sackings. Reward for failure. It doesn't make sense.
If Ashley's ready to write off £12m on Thauvin after 3 months, and his gonna make risky and flamboyant signings like £12m on Townsend, then the severance clause in McClaren's contract (I assume this exists and is in the £2m region) will be small change to him and money well spent if someone comes in that keeps us up. McClaren's had all his chances now and he's clearly a walking disaster, we're only going down with him.
Pretty sure if we dont beat bournemouth and norwich or lose heavily to leicester he's gone. Probably will be gone after Leicester game either way.
Has anyone else seen the story about McClaren having a bust up with a journalist?!?! Great prep for the game, Schteve, way to handle pressure matey!! Here's the article directly from the journalist involved. Beware - this is cringe at its best. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 It's fcking astonishing. Why always us? Can we get Balotelli's number and get 50,000 T-shirts printed?
There will be a cap on his pay off in his contract. There was for Keegan and it was £2m despite him having £8.5m left to pay on his contract and winning his constructive dismissal case.
I have no doubt whatsoever that the players will be looking excuses and looking for the easy way out. They've done it for years, so why stop now.
