Dennis Adeniran played in both of England Under-17s’ first two matches at the Algarve Tournament over the weekend. please log in to view this image He played the full 80 minutes of Friday afternoon’s 1-1 draw with Portugal. The hosts took an early lead through Miguel Luis, only for England to claim a point courtesy of Tottenham Hotspur’s Samuel Shashoua. Dennis started on the bench for Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Germany but came on at half-time for Ipswich Town’s Andre Dozzell. England were two goals up at that point through Sheffield Wednesday striker George Hirst’s brace, but Florian Baak halved the deficit late on in the second half, before Renat Dadashov equalised in the final minute of stoppage time. England’s third and final match is against the Netherlands on Tuesday.
Dennis Adeniran played the full 80 minutes in that third game. Unfortunately it was England's last in the tournament as they went down 2- 0 to the Netherlands. England - and hopefully others as well as Dennis from our Academy - are back in action next month for Euro Elite Qualifying Round matches here in the UK, where they face Turkey, Ukraine and Finland.
In the Euro qualifying games at St Georges, England U16s beat the Czech Republic 5-1 yesterday and Norway 1-0 a couple of days ago. Struggling to find details – even on the FA site. Do know however that Ryan Sessegnon played in the both games, took over as captain against Norway .. please log in to view this image ... and had an assist among the crop of goals in the Czech match.
Well done Ryan Sessegnon and England U16s, beating Italy 1 - 0 today. Again no details unfortunately - except that this victory means England were the Tournament winners. Had thought it was actually qualifying games for 'the Euro championships' but apparently it was the tournament proper (!?).
This time it definitely is Euro qualifiers, with England U17s matched against Ukraine, Turkey and Finland starting on 24th March. Both Ryan Sessignon and Dennis Adeniran are in the team. please log in to view this image Link to full story: http://www.thefa.com/news/england/development/2016/mar/u17s-elite-round-squad-announced-030316
