The fact is with the players we have, we should be 6 points clear, we've lost some stupid games, Bruce for me is tactically inept, and last night proved that for me. No Maloney again Diomande WTF Clucas needs to be subbed more than he is Hudd should have stayed on Abel was getting no service whatsoever and that should have been sorted Powell is not the answer, he's a luxury, not a crunch Championship winner, imo
Long would be bloody brilliant at this level in this team. It's academic though because he's a proven PL player. Abel will never make it in the PL until he grows some balls. A few recent posts talk about Abel's pace and work rate. Bollocks. He didn't make one ****ing run last night.
We haven't got another striker though George. I'm sure that every game is dissected by Steve Bruce and his team and the best tactics are decided together with the best players selected to perform those tactics. A lot of posters love to spout off about what they would have done but always AFTER the game and not before. There is a wealth of talent in our Management/Selection team but I believe we are still very limited up front and have done extraordinary well to be where we are with what we've got. We only need our fair share of luck and 'run-of-the-ball' to make the top 2. The woodwork has cost us dearly this season when it was injuries last season.
The first thing he mentioned is how they set out to exploit Huddlestone and how he leaves a lot of space around him, he's a blessing with his skill but a curse with his other liabilities. I thought he did well last night but their manager saying that specifically shows that other teams know how to exploit us now when he plays. This isn't bashing the player it's an observation, like I said I thought he played well but the end result last night was us losing and the other manager making that comment
It's not the starting XI selections that are generally the issue, it's how to change things when they're not working. Not something you can discuss ahead of the game, obviously.
I think Clucas needs a rest or Bruce to sit down with him and saying to keep doing the things he doing but to just slow things down a bit in his head when he gets into key areas which he does very well. He should have scored last night but he repeatedly was getting into excellent positions it just takes a bit of coaching to get it right. Saying he is 'not up to it' shows a general ignorance and lack of knowledge of football because he patently has all the attributes to be a top player but is still learning
Birmingham had two shots all game didn't they? One was a well taken but speculative overhead kick and one was a tame effort which was extremely lucky to be deflected in. They really didn't exploit anything.
Their manager made the comment for a reason, he probably knows better than us on here being in his position
We were unlucky not to win really, another day Clucas gets two or 3 goals, Livermores shot off the post lands at his feet and he slots it in.Time for Hayden and possibly Maguire to get more matches but don't ask me how they fit Harry back into the team
It was pretty poor to be honest, fingers crossed Diomande is not another on our list of Paul Hunters/Proschwitzes/ Duffys and so on. Got to give him a full pre-season for me and see how he measures up

Robbo ****ed around outside the penalty area instead of clearing the ****ing ball, lost the ball, then the shot took a deflection off Davies, and went past Greegsy who had it covered til the deflection. How the frig is that their manager out thinking Bruce, and how is it anything at all to do with Hudds?
Ah yes, Hudds telekinetic powers again, he made Dawson go against his better judgement and play out under pressure, he made Robertson miscontrol the ball horribly, he made Livermore get turned left and right and strung up like a kipper, then he made Davies flick it on and McGregors hand weaken just as he got to the ball. ****ing Huddlestone. When will Bruce ever learn?
Obviously, and not something a Manager and his staff would discuss with message board posters before, during and after a game either.
