Massive game. We've had a **** week, but what better game to put it right ? Against our arch rivals with the chance to draw level and take 3 points off of them. I think being away from the Emirates might actually help us at the moment too. The pressure will be on Spurs to win this. If the players can't raise their game for this one then they need lining up and shooting.
Also **** me what is up with Gibbs face in that celebration? Man looks like he'd kill someone. Need that killer do or die attitude on Saturday.
If we can take any advantage from this game is that Spurs willnbe under more pressure than us. They are in a better position to win the title and their form would suggest the pressure is on them to win over us. We've had two bad results in a row but we usually pick it up for the NL derby match. But looking at our current lack of commitment when the pressure has hit the players is really disappointing. We've lost easier games and it really depends if Spurs implodes in this one and hands us the victory.
A fan usually hates losing a derby because of the weeks of piss-taking from the rival club's fans that always follows. Not us Arsenal fans though. We take so much hate filled trolling from our own supposed fans that it knocks our rivals banter into a cocked hat. COYG
Thats purely down to the fact that most of your fanbase are sick of Wenger, and frustrated by the Arsenal boards complete lack of ambition. However, they sometimes choose to be a bit too aggressive and militant in their ramblings and in the case of 87, go on bizarre rants, and claim people have said **** they haven't said "if everyone thinks Arsenal are a super elite club then how come....." I dont know anyone who even uses the term "Elite Club" let alone attribute it to Arsenal. They also get pissed if every Arsenal fan doesn't curse Wengers name every hour on the hour and argue amongst themselves as to who hates Wenger more. Then there are the other fans, who are like Jeremy Corbyn on Ecstacy, peaceniks who say they want their club to do great things, but can't be bothered to get off their arses and do or say anything that might help that happen, and would prefer to just sit there, fingers crossed in vain, then when Arsenal inevitably **** it up they mumble something pathetic like, "Oh Arsene really should have done this or that...." all the while jacking off to their Arsene Wenger posters. In short, the first camp are right, Wengers a ****ing loser and should go, they are just dicks about it, and they annoy people by spamming the board with constant Anti Wenger rhetoric. Basically Claude and Ty on Arsenal fan TV personify those camps to the letter. Also Arsenal87 and PISKIE perform the same function on here. Its a fascinating psychological study.
You will always have those. Like I said, the situation with Arsenal fans right now is fascinating I will admit. On one hand I can understand the anger and frustration of the "Wenger out" camp, because your club will not win another league title with him at the helm. But on the other hand I can understand why the peaceniks get annoyed, because some of the **** 87 comes out with is hilarious, and he likes to put words in peoples mouths. And if you look at the front page of your board, he has spammed it with Anti Wenger BS.
Its fascinating for me as a neutral, though not to Arsenal fans who are in the middle of it to be honest. I remember we kinda had a fan civil war when Roman acquired us, purists vs progressives. Though social media wasn't as prevalent then as it is now. I honestly hope you guys resolve it soon, because I as much as it fascinates me, I don't like to see it the nastiness. I guess Wenger leaving will be the only solution.
It can be vaguely entertaining to whittle away some dull work time to read exchanges on here, and instigate a little bit here and there... but fascinating? Really? You need better hobbies if so!
Maybe, I just like psychology In terms of instigating, I suppose thats inevitable, whenever a rival fan posts anything on your board it kinda gets taken the worst possible way it could. I just genuinely call it as I see it.
Hahaha you got that down to a tee. It is a shame that there is such an obsession with Wenger that it takes over this forum. One of the best things that will happen when he goes is fans can get back to talking exclusively about Arsenal. The irony is, the majority of new supporters became Arsenal supporters due to Wenger and his departure will inevitably lose supporters, even those that are most critical of him.
I wouldn't be sad to see the back of some of our fair weather plastic supporters. I think it was Bill Shankly who said 'if you can't support us when we lose or draw, don't bother supporting us when we win'
Its more frustration that the fans can see what is causing you to lose, and know that the club could easily rectify the situation, but for lord knows what reason, they refuse to do anything about it. They are happy finishing 3rd or 4th every year with the occassional FA cup. Thats more than most teams achieve granted, but then they witness clubs previously subordinate to Arsenal in terms of success, like Chelsea for example, hoovering up trophies, winning league titles and European Cups, and it makes them mad, especially since we have done it all whilst chopping and changing managers every 10 minutes. Now it looks like Spurs are in a position to win a league title, which would be the ultimate humiliation. Or even Leicester, who have spent next to nothing relative to Arsenal. Surely you can understand why some fans would be bothered by this, when you have a brand spanking new stadium that you fill up every week (with the most expensive tickets in the PL I might add), and in return for doing things the right way and having an austerity period, instead of getting into heap of debt, in return, the money the fans spend is not reinvested into the club and the fruits of that labour are not seen on the pitch, instead, your chairman buys himself a new farm worth millions and the board sit in the boardroom lighting cuban cigars with your £20 notes. I might have made that last part up
I'm intrigued... what effect do these fair weather supporters have on your life for you to want to see the back of them? Do you know them personally? Do they insult or offend you personally?
