Completely irrelevant to the result. Obviously for much of this season we have missed loads of chances, so the more we are on TV the more we will see that.
Its absolute balls, people just remember the games that we lost. There's ****loads of times we've won, including 3 of our biggest games ever when we won all 3 play-off matches televised on Sky.
I recall a Friday night game v Doncaster & it ended 0-0, just checking & it was either 96/97 or 03/04. Either way we had never won a televised game up to that point! Can't remember the first time we won on TV? But I have seen plenty of wins on TV since!
It was 03/04. A woman at work recorded it for me. She wasn't there in 97. A bloke at worked who watched it on Sky said we had bored the pants off him. Sounded painful.
Has the same meaning and relevance as the manager of the month award effect. MUMBO JUMBO. Don't worry about it.
I watched the recording, knowing the result! I was bored as well. It must have been a Monday because the bloke who was bored at worked said, "Your lot bored the pants off me last night". Mind you, he supported Man U. They have a low boredom threshold at the Theatre of Dreams. That explains their daydreams.
It was definitely 03/04. I remember it pretty well, I can see Allsopp playing that night. It was our last game at Belle Vue I believe, and we took a good following. I remember thinking it was a bit odd putting a Division 3 game on Sky. You don't see it very often. Awful game. Turned out to be an important top of the table clash!
Definitely a Monday night. I watched it in The Black Bull in Newcastle with a Donny supporting mate of mine. Nobody else in the place was the slightest bit interested. Even we just ended up chatting for most of the second half. It was that mind numbingly dull.
Was that the game Danny (one for the future) Webb played? If it is, I ended up driving, so didn't have a beer. I remember thinking, christ, is this what they all seem like when you're sober? Weren't we the first English game to be shown on satellite? Away at Rochdale I think.
I thought it was that game, but I keep thinking it's way too recent! Yes Parkin scored an absolute belter & Danny Mills was wrongly sent off for us! Wow I can't believe it's not even 10 years yet!
