The trial competition will be on Saturday 5th March. £1,000 to bet how you like on Saturday's Terrestrial TV races. All bet types will be allowed (singles, doubles, trebles, accumulators, L15s. Trixies, Patents, all Tote bets etc etc) This is a trial run to see if we have a workable back up facility in the event of the not606 site being unavailable at any time. In order to take part you need to have a FB account and be invited to join. If you are interested please PM me the FB ID or email address you will be using and I will send an invite. Once you accept the invite you will be able to take part. The trial will be run under the FB Group name Not606 Horse Racing (see below) I've made it a secret group so that only those that join can post on it and see the posts I hope some of you will take part so that we get a fair idea of how workable it is. TIP From my experience, if you press "return/enter" it sends the post (although you can later edit it). If you want to do a carriage return press the "return/enter" whilst holdng down the shift key
Volunteers so far Princess Redcat (invited) stick Amanda (my daughter, as I had to add someone to get it started) - she better not win

You could tweet your selections to @Not606Racing Wooly and I'll pick them up from there. A double test, FB and Twitter
I just hope this isn't needed and the site doesn't go down during Cheltenham week. I've never been on or used either Twitter or Facebook so I'll not be able to participate if it goes tits up on here again
I doubt it will go down smokey (but I would have said that a couple of weeks back). We may never need the back up; but it's nice to have one though, just in case. And best to find out if it's workable. I swore I would never go near twitter with it's ****ing tweets and hash tags, and FB is worse than Coronation Street. But here I am . From where I'm sitting FB definitely looks the best option for running a competition. Twitter looks useful for receiving info feeds. Believe me, I'm no expert on these things. I'm learning as I go along and talking a load of rubbish in the process
Don't know much about it red except it was acquired by Facebook 2 years ago and seems to be geared more towards free messaging between mobiles users. I'm sure someone will have more idea.
Oh dear. I sent an invite to that address, and a reminder. As you hadn't received it I removed the invite, whereupon it said you wouldn't now be able to join, and sent another. But now it says I have already invited you and won't let me invite you again. Can you Pm me what you are known as on FB and I'll try that
On searching, I see other people have had this problem. The easiest way to re-invite (apparently) is to become a friend temporarily. another way is to change the group to closed but I don't want to do that at this stage. Is that email address the one you have registered with FB?
