To try and stop any of us topping ourselves after another pathetic away performance I thought I would cheer you up with a poll of some of the positives of being relegated. You can choose any 3 from my ten or even come up with you own suggestions.
For me if the 'footballing board' is all dismissed then that will be a positive for me. However history strongly suggests that Ashley will learn absolutely nothing from this, or previous, seasons relegation dog fight and will either continue with Penfold and co in place or bullet them and replace them with three random blokes that he met in the kebab shop queue one night.
Tickets will be cheaper (unless you were a mug who signed up for the long term deal) sorry not for me I've been informed that my sons ticket will go up by £200.00p despite signing a long term deal he'll be 18 by next season and still doesn't know if he's going to uni or what so I guess I'm the mug I was lead to believe it would be premiership football I paid in advance for premiership football I never signed up for championship football I won't accept more games for the same cost **** is **** what ever way you dress it up what ever happend to the 5year plan that was swapped for another 5 year plan that was taken over by this new ambitious plan that McClown talked about at the begining of the season where is the exciting football, with pace and heart you promised somethin to get us off our seats all bullshit
Here is Ashley's new 6 year plan Season 1: (this one): Get relegated. Hopefully flog of all the shxt I was persuaded to buy and make enough cash to keep us going in the Championship Season 2: Take out a different type of contract on Steve and see whether I can get a bulk discount to include Carr and Charnley. After suitable mourning period appoint 3 blokes I met down the Kebab shop. Walk the Championship with all the cheap new Turkish players we sign. Season 3: Get rid of Stavros Stanisopolis as he has no Premiership experience and replace him with an experienced Premiership Manager on a 25 year contract (Howard Wilkinson may be available). Consolidate in the Premier League (15-17th spot) without spending serious amounts of money. Season 4: Flog off anyone who has an ounce of talent preferably to Liverpool at over-the-top prices and after a miserable autumn sign some cheap but decent Chinese players to keep us up. Open 100 branches of Sports Direct in China towards the end of the season. Season 5: Buy 5 midfield players and 3 left backs in a panic buying spree when all our Chinese players are deported after being caught cockle-picking in Morecambe Bay during the Summer months in contravention of their Work Permits. End up getting relegated again losing all away games to nil. Season 6: Repeat from Season 2
One MASSIVE Negative of staying up Scteve staying as our manager and on the last day of the season turning round to the media saying "See, See, I told you we would stay up. I told you we are good enough" That for me would be infuriating
We need to stay up somehow, AND, sack McClaren. That is the only way forward. Our chances of staying up are about foooked though.!!
There are no positives for me Relegation or staying up by the skin of our teeth, it all equates to more of the same misery. I was prepared to accept that rebuilding was a long term project and a huge amount of patience would be needed. But the current fiasco is beyond belief, it goes from bad to worse, despite investment, despite the fantastic support. The root problem is Ashley, he can throw more millions at buying new players, but whilst he surrounds himself with only those he trusts, who sadly have no knowledge or experience to run this club and develope it going forwards, nothing will ever change. His insecurity and our so called Plan makes the talent pool we could dip into a small puddle. Only the greedy or desperate would contemplate NUFC and until it changes from the top down there is little hope.
this season wasn't about 'JUST' staying up it was about progression or that's the way i was sold it at the begining of the season 'judge me on 12 games' was the phrase i think
This for me. There are no positives to being relegated - especially this year. We will be left behind by the teams still in the Premier League. Even if we came back up straight away (which I doubt we would), we would need to invest way beyond our income just to compete, which is a route that puts the whole club at risk if we don't stay up. History shows us that this is not something MA would do anyway.
Totally agree with this...and ideally (ha!) One of the only redeeming factors to come from relegation would be for Mikey boy to reassess ...EVERYTHING ...starting at the top and working down. Hell, if he only dragged the board out and beat them with a baseball bat (and saved a good few whacks for himself) that would be a positive... it won't happen mind In a wierd way I quite enjoyed our time in the championship ..All the best league in the world propaganda stopped ..no super duper fab Sundays ..no more blanket ignorant biased coverage of the ONLY 6 teams that matter ..man Utd Chelsea etc The football was more ...honest, we actually ..competed. Finally, a big plus for me was ..I enjoyed watching us again..none of this turgid dreary hopeless bollox we have watched for way, way, too long Embrace the pain ..We are ****e, the club is rotten from the core outwards ..nowt will change if we stay up ..It MIGHT* change if we go down *Might ..usage of the term can be applied to a multi million pound lottery win..it does not, however, apply to NUFC or Ashley
Embrace Relegation. This Club Needs Real Change and that will never happen until something drastic happens, that makes MA change his policy or prompts him to move on. So what if we avoid relegation, it'll only be another repeat next season and the one after that and so on... Another season of watching dreary ****e in a league where mid-table is seen as being a success - or a team giving it a go in the Championship. Give me the Championship - Bring it On. If we stay up fine, if not, its not the end of the world. This club will live on, and will return stronger - like we've done many times over the years. Sometimes you just have to take your medicine.
Praying to get better, really is irrational, but, praying in general apparently helps some people, especially to a God like Shola....
Most people are presuming that if (when) we do get relegated that the team will 'give it a real go' and 'really compete' like they did last time we went down...................... however I strongly suspect that we will absolutely stink out the Championship and struggle to be a mid table side down there. The presumption that we will walk it like last time will be way off this time, I fear. We wouldn't compete down there with the team we have now.......................... let alone after we get relegated and sell all of our best players.
