No, Stan, play fair. I've put my hands up to this one. It's a rare occurence, but it does happen, as it does to the very best of us.
Eh? Trying what? You want numbers, facts, figures, go google them yourself. I just enjoy football, and have been lucky to witness both Forest's and Leicester's (so far) fantastic achievements.
Think that might be us. We finished 3rd in our first PL season after promotion (though even that was 20+ years ago). Oh how times have changed. Still, we're doing our best to give ourselves another crack at seeing how we can do after (if) we come back up!!!
Cloughie was a brilliant manager, but in terms of a team achieving the unexpected then Leicester winning the Premier league would outdo what Forest did on a domestic level. On a European level they would then have to go on and win the Champions League for the next two years though to outdo Forest.
I think the most that can possibly and sensibly be stated is that the achievement of Leicester, should they win the title this season, would be comparable with the achievement of Forest when they won the title immediately on being promoted.
The big difference is that when Forest won the title it was a surprise rather than a massive shock. At the start of the season nobody had them down as relegation candidates, and many people tipped them to have a very good season because of their squad. That wasn't that unusual for a promoted team back then. Very different days.
The bookmakers put a price on Forest winning the league that season, and the same bookmakers are clearly saying that Leicester winning the league from a starting price of 5000/1 means if they win the PL it'll be the biggest sporting shock in the history of the planet you compete donk.
Oh the irony.... Your pig headed refusal to admit that I've handed you your arse on a plate here, which I've done with good old fashioned FACTS, is beyond cringeworthy. Your idiocy knows no bounds pal.
What the hell are you bleating on about, now? Dressing an opinion up as "fact" does not make it fact. It may have escaped your attention, but this is a public forum for people to discuss opinions regarding football. In your opinion, should Leicester win the title, it will be the greatest ever sporting achievement in the history of the entire world. In my opinion, that's complete and utter bollocks, because Forest's achievements eclipse that. You clearly do not agree with my opinion, and I clearly do not agree with yours, but that doesnt make either of us wrong or right. We have, each of us, for the purposes of discussion, expressed different opinions, on a football forum that is designed for people to give their opinions on footballing matters. That this clearly upsets you indicates to me that, perhaps, you are not yet mature enough to engage in these kinds of discussions, and that it would be better for your health to go back to playing GTA 5.
