Look I think its fair to say city travelled to kiev and also it was cold over there compared to us playing at home. What I felt occurred most of all was a) city made no subs at all i nthe 90mins sunday and only subbed in extra time. b) city put a 4231 formation out yesterday with navas and silva and sterling behind aguero. we see 3 guys with 120mins in legs there and both CMs they havd were then outnumbered too c) we played origi and lallana who were fresher to press high. All in all we had the fresher team yesterday through our own switches and what city did and as a result we pounded them.
Look, all we did was smash the **** out of them To counter you: a) I'm sure that was an arduous journey east in their private jet / first class suite and the 90 minutes they weren't sitting on cosy heated seats/dressing room b) That's their bad decision c) Where were their fresher players after all this football they've also had to play We had something to prove after Sunday and we proved it. All the rest is bullshit
A) We've seen our lot fail lots of times after tips like that it is disruptive to fly out and you can't train etc b) did i say it was not? c) mine was a compliment to klopp for changing it. I said before the game we needed to not risk sturridge and coutinho didn't i? said it was responsible. Glad klopp is as smart as me frankly.
It's not like we have never arrived back from a game in Russia on the Friday, played on the Sunday and then played on the Tuesday.(season 12-13) It is arduous but it's just part of the modern game for the cosseted modern players.
More important questions: Is the CL place we get for winning the EL better than the CL place we get for coming 4th (no qualification round)? Assuming we take the best of these two routes, who gets the other one?

HUGE assumptions. We are not good enough in general to take either so this little fantasy while enjoyable can be parked and realism says if we get 6th out of the league we will have done ok from here in.
Again I'm stating facts of what happened. Did it have an effect? Maybe. Did city playing same team again after 120mins have additional effect... Yes. Did city changing tactics have am effect.. yes Given milner henderson and can. Our weak midfield dominated theirs after not doing do Sunday says that some tiredness effect was there that we coped with better and our system beat their system yesterday.
Context....in the days when players smoked and downed pints of lager and ate big steaks for breakfast tiredness never appeared to be an issue despite having a squad of maybe 13 players, there was two games a week guaranteed for the top teams and there was still travel to Eastern Europe back then for European games. By comparison today's players are supposedly top athletes.

The game back then was nowhere near the pace and intensity it is now though. Plus you had the backpass to take a breather (a 70 minute breather in your case )
