Just goes to show how different people see things differently. After it's mention yesterday I downloaded and watched it too, well about half of it anyway,

I thought it far more Disney than gothic and McAvoy very irritating in his failed "Withnail" impersonation. And that wizard boy just can't act either. If it was meant as a kid's or teen film fair enough but otherwise I am left baffled why so much money and supposed talent is wasted

Watchable but apart from whiling away some time hardly worth the bother.

    That's what I love about movies, I don't think there's ever been a movie
Where everyone liked it, it's an individual thing, the marmite syndrome ..

    Loved that film.

More twists than a helter skelter and was an enjoyable story too. Agree about Ethan Hawke too, but in this, he's great.

There's never been one where nobody likes it too, even the worst films get some kind of cult following! Was watching Airheads the other day, even that has fans and it has to be one of the worst films I've seen for a long time

Watched Bridge Of Spies and Creed on an overnight flight last night, the former is very good and well worth a watch, the latter is the same as every other Rocky film.

I love the Rocky films despite their obvious failings.

Watched the latest Mad Max recently. It's mental.

I see you found my review of The Idiot on Flixster.

I will agree, reading back, it does come across quite pretentious.

Like I said, it is a bit pretentious. I probably tried to hard to sound like an arsehole (not that hard to do, I will admit).
