    Here's a few previous meetings:

Bit miffed I couldn't find the 5-2 win at the KC from the second promotion season (which featured Curtis Davies in defence for Brum).

I'd be surprised if Hernandez starts against the Arse. Bruce's team selection in the first match shows he's not bothered about the FA Cup.

    All of them? Nasty?
I don't post - I can't, as I've been banned from public comments by the small figure of conscience parked on my left bollock - but I love these match day threads and this one has started just as well as the others; the irreverence and silliness of the unconnected factuals like a Dummies Guide for all the little figures of conscience residing on the balls of non posters everywhere....and the team prediction, whetting the appetite of the owners of those shy testicular sacks who still wonder when their inhibitions will allow them forth to spout their own naive beliefs....don't stop. And what is a PM? I am 52 this year and I need to know. Some kind of local relief? Can I have one?

Thank you but you appear to be confusing the importance of Mr Rheinhold's Match Day Thread with running a country on the cusp of the most significant constitutional decision this season; Hayden or Livermore. Brexit is nada compared to Midfield configuration in the city that gave us cotton wool. It seems.

I think a few clubs start off not really caring about the Cup; but the 'serious' rounds - quarter-final on - often brings a change of attitude/line-up.

    Still no injuries

    http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Birm...m-news-video/story-28847404-detail/story.html

    Hull City Team news
Hull City's charmed run continues with manager Steve Bruce again able to call upon a fully-fit squad for the trip to Birmingham.

The Hull boss is without injury concerns for the sixth game in succession and that points towards him fielding another unchanged side at St Andrew's.

The same starting XI produced decent performances against Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday to bank four points and Bruce hinted yesterday he has no pressing wish to tinker following six days of rest.

Nick Powell, pictured, who caught the eye during his substitute appearance against Wednesday, is pushing for a full league debut, while Tom Huddlestone and Isaac Hayden offer alternatives in the centre of midfield. Chuba Akpom also waits in the wings for a start up front.

Bruce will use the full depth of his squad over the coming days with one eye on the visit of Arsenal on Tuesday. The FA Cup fifth round replay means almost every senior player in the City ranks can expect an opportunity to impress.

Likely line-up (4-4-2): McGregor; Robertson, Davies, Dawson, Odubajo; Clucas, Livermore, Meyler, Snodgrass; Diame, Hernandez.

    Birmingham Team news
Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett, above, is expected to make changes for the visit of Hull City as he looks to revive a flagging pursuit of the play-offs.

The Blues were soundly beaten at Queens Park Rangers to fall four points off the top six and Rowett will be aiming to spark a reaction against the Tigers.

Central midfielder Stephen Gleeson is rated as a major doubt because of an illness, paving the way for David Davis to partner Maikel Kieftenbeld in the holding roles.

Diego Fabbrini, currently on loan from Watford, is one attacker vulnerable to the axe, with Jon-Miquel Toral, an Arsenal team-mate of City's Chuba Akpom and Isaac Hayden, in the frame for a recall.

Rowett's goalscoring options have been reduced by a calf injury to James Vaughan.

The experienced forward was a substitute in the weekend loss at Loftus Road but will play no part this evening.

Nicolai Brock-Madsen (hamstring) and Neal Eardley (knee) also remain on the sidelines for the promotion-chasing Blues.

Likely line-up (4-2-3-1): Kuszczak; Grounds, Robinson, Morrison, Shotton; Kieftenbeld, Davis; Maghoma, Toral, Cottrill; Donaldson

Great chance for us to put some pressure on our rivals tonight. I'm never confident that City will win but I'll have everything crossed.

    Thursday Night in Birmingham

I have been racking my brains but cannot remember Hull playing on a Thursday evening, though I dare say someone with a very good memory just might.

Considering the money the TV companies put in its difficult to argue with really, even more so next season when the pot of gold that will be shared out it will be far bigger than anyone has ever seen or could have even envisaged 5 years ago. Let’s just hope Hull City are sat at the Premier League table getting their fair share.

And so to the next game in this very busy schedule, it’s away to Birmingham City and as always HCOSC was there to hear what Steve Bruce had to say about it and from a player’s prospective it was Mohamed Diame who faced the press.

Mo was asked about Thursday night football was it something new and how does it affect the preparations? “Yes it is new to be honest, I am not a player who played Europe and played Thursdays nights but this year we have a lot of games and we play Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturdays. It doesn’t affect us to be honest, we just know we have to be ready and fight in every single game to win”.

Due to the congested programme Mo was asked if training had been relaxed “Yes it’s not easy to prepare for games when there is only 2 days, you need to use the 2 days to have a rest. It’s not easy for the staff and also for the players who are not involved as they have to stay focused and keep working hard, more so than the players who are playing every single game. It’s not easy but that’s the Championship and we are ready for it”.

With a fully fit squad Steve Bruce is utilising the full squad and some player are left out. “It is part of the game, we are professional plays and we know it we can only have 11 players on the pitch and we just have to accept it”

Travelling to Birmingham, Hull will be full of confidence having won four of the last five games. Mo was asked what the difference between now and the back end of last year, I am sure most fans will recall Hull struggled at Leeds, Preston and Rotherham. “I can’t say what the difference is; we always try to win the games when we go out onto the pitch and that has been the case right from the beginning of the season”.

“When teams come to the KC Stadium they come to defend and it’s harder sometime to score goals. When we are away it can be easier because they feel that they have to win in their own stadium, so that become easier for us.

Steve Bruce, with his eye looking a lot better than it did last week confirmed that we still have a fully fit squad. Oh if only we were so lucky last year, I am convinced we would have been playing our football in the Premier league this season had the injuries not crippled us so much. Anyway we can’t change what has happened so let’s not dwell on that. A fully fit squad at this stage of the season is something most managers must dream off. However it does create selection problems but then that’s what a manager is paid for. “There is a good attitude amongst them all and of course it is tough for some that they can’t be involved but the team we are putting out at the moment is doing ok, so when it’s doing ok like it is just leave it along”

“A football wants to be in the team and if they don’t I would question them as well but I think they realise the strength we have got. This time last year we had injuries to 5 or 6 big players and we couldn’t cope. I am hopeful it will not happen this year but if we do have 5 or 6, as we have proved, then we have a squad that is capable. And I have got to leave 4 or 5 lads behind today who would probably walk into most Championship Clubs but I think they realise now the games come thick and fast and what at stake and what we are trying to achieve”.

“We have a big month ahead, or a couple of months ahead, it’s getting interesting there is 3 or 4 but it would not surprise me if someone else comes on a run and we have been on a very good run for a couple of months now and still haven’t pulled clear, so fair play to Burnley, Middlesbrough and Brighton. They all making it a fantastic Championship and I would not be surprised, like it has done in many years and it goes all the way to the wire”.

Steve talked a bit about Nick Powell “He has certainly done enough in the 2 games. Against Arsenal he came on for half an hour to show us he can bring something to the table and he looks a very good player. He something we are looking at between now and the summer to see if we can make it permanent. As I have said of Isaac Hyden, he is another young player who we like the sound off and we like the idea of very decent young players. This club has done particularly well of young players coming through in the past couple of years anyway. It’s been good for them when you look at Odubajo, Robertson and Maguire people like that have all thrived on been at the club so let’s hope we can add the two of them to the club.”

We shouldn’t forget that Steve Bruce of course spent several years at Birmingham both as player in the 1980’s after he left Manchester United and then 6 years as the Birmingham Manger starting 2001 but let’s hope Steve can get one over them on Thursday. 3 more points would take us back to the top after Middlesbrough slipped up on Tuesday night.

Why does someone from the official supporters club more than once refer to us as Hull?

I hope Powell gets at least half an hour. He might be what takes City to a notch higher in performance levels.

Who's this football who wants in? What position does he play? He may put a little bounce back in the team. Start him.

Bruce, the much older than I thought ****. 1980s, he'll have your reporter's bollocks next week.
