The problem with AP is that he's... wait for it... "Absolutely Pointless".

Seriously though? What's the point in him? The Allam's didn't get their fortune from good luck, they're definitely business experts, so he's not needed in that regard. What's he here for? His football knowledge?

Nope, that can't be it. What's the point in him?

Eh how is Hull FC a business competitor? You either like Rugby or Football with a few individuals who enjoy both. So where is the competition????

Yeah I've been thinking this for a while. Lets get rid of the man who came back to the club he'd previously saved, save us from liquidation, help to force through the sale of the club to the Allams, help to appoint a top notch manager, help to stabilize the clubs finances and make sure we remain a competitive team in the championship by helping to recruit the likes of Cameron Stewart, James Chester and more recently Dudgeon. Nice thread... <whistle>

You don't see a conflict of interest?
Adam's stated aim is to take the egg chasers to the top of thier sport, to fill the stadium etc. There are only so many leisure quids to go round in a recession.
Like it or not, the egg chasers are rivals for this money.

If the egg chasers rise to the top at a time when City struggle then a generation of plastic fickle part timers will take their kids to watch the egg chasing to reflect in the glory, such is life.

i mean do you anti-aps not know anything about business? do you think rupert murdoch or donald trump or branston or dragons den lot or others are handson with all their businesses? are the cobblers. they get experts in and keep an eye from above. allams are not football experts. they have a multimillion boat engine business to take care of. theyve got people at hull city who know what they are doing and number one on that list, second to nobody else at hull city is adamn pearson. likewise adam pearson has people at hullfc who know about rugby league. if there are changes to be made you dont get rid of your expert unless you have another expert to stick in their place. like it or not adam pearson has spoken to and dealt with a large number of the other football clubs. percival you know nothing at all you cant even tie your shoelaces yet son so dont start trying to presume to tell people who have been around for longer whats what. you and your ****ty stuipid opinions are mere arsewipe. as for the rest of you who think ap should be on your way go an dlearn about the world before spouting your ignorant crap all pver the place.

I do not think for one moment that Rupert Murdoch actually hacks phone himself, nor do I believe that the branston guy stirs his own pickle.
If you choose to give Adam Pearson you're full support, then good for you.......good for you.
Each to thier own opinion, thanks for your input.

Business guys like Pearson always have a few projects on the go, it's pretty naive to say the least to think that he can only look after Hull City and do nothing else.

Happy to expand, but I suspect you will once again deliberately miss the point (unless you genuinely don't understand, in which case the expansion seems futile).

You suggested, I think, that Hull FC would be competitors to Hull City. I don't see it that way. Sure, they are both sports clubs, but I see no reason why they should be mutually exclusive. Many Rugby players (Union & League) also enjoy watching Football (and Golf & Cricket etc). Many Football supporters watch Golf (and Rugby (both Codes) & Cricket). People who enjoy watching Hull City on Saturday, if they can afford it, will go and watch the Rugby on Sunday. If they can't afford both then they make a choice. I do not see that that choice is going to be affected by Adam Pearson buying a stake in another club. Do you think many people changed their allegience from Derby to Hull when he did? So why would they now drift away from Hull City?

Your argument is based on a dislike of Adam Pearson or Hull FC. For what reason I cannot imagine. Would you care to enlighten us?

One sports club very rarely draws supporters away from another. Most Leeds Rhino's fans also support Leeds United, why would you not support your home town teams, whatever the sport. So again, why would Hull City not want Hull FC to fill the stadium? Fill the Bars? Win the cups? Most restaurants are happy when another opens next door because they get more business not less. Check out the West End or Las Vegas. They relish the success of their competitors because it feeds their own. Don't be so parochial.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I can remember times when Hull fc had bigger gates than Hull City, as you pointed out, many city fans watched football on a saturday and rugby on a sunday. Sport was more affordable in those days.
Hull fc drew large crowds due to thier success on the pitch, Hull City were struggling and many fans drifted away. These are harsh economic times and these days many people can only afford one or the other of the two sports. I would not like to see a return to the rugby club having larger gates and therefore income than the football club. I would like it even less if an employee of Hull City was instrumental in this. Hope this helps.

    Keep the faith.

I think I see what he means. I'm not an expert on such things, so my understanding of the situation may be wrong.

If an investor was going to invest in a sports team in hull, only one team mind, does Adam Pearson have any influence on trying to attract sponsorship to hull city? But surely he is more interested in the financial success of the club he has a significant investment in? Which would be FC.

I don't doubt his commitment to hull city, it has been proven in the past. But he is after all a businessman.
