The Glorious Goodwood Betting Competition - Wednesday Rules 1. At the start of the competition you will have a bank of £1,000 to bet as you like throughout the meeting on any of the televised races (all on Channel 4) 2. You may only bet with money remaining in the bank 3. You may lay each others' bets but the offer must be clearly stated in this thread and the offer must be accepted in this thread. Once the offer is made it must be accepted unless withdrawn in this thread before any acceptance has been posted in this thread. The offer may only be made if the remaining bank is sufficient to cover the liability 4. Bets may be single or multiples, win, ew, ew all in, or place only 5. All bets must bear the name of the horse(s) and the race 6. If the named horse does not run in the named race it will be deemed a NR (ie the stake will not automatically be placed on the same horse if it runs in a subsequent race) 7. If a bet is made on a horse not in a televised race the bet will be void 8. Bets will be permitted at the best available odds* and must be clearly stated along with the selection. All available Tote bets will be permitted in which case returns will be as stated on the Racing Post site. Otherwise all odds will be deemed SP as stated on the Racing Post site. 9. Ron, sorry again to query but I think you have "done" me. I spent £490 as follows: 3 x £50 e/w 1 x £25 e/w plus £20 patent so £510 left plus winnings : £25 e/w Namibian 7/1 = £268.75 and £20 Strong Suit 5/2, £20 Requinta 6/1 and £20 double = £70 plus £140 plus £490 = £700 plus £268.75 = £968.75 plus £510 = £1478.75. I realise the N/R messed it up but it was only delared a N/R around 1.30.
Woolcombe I imagine myself to be like Hughesie will be on Canford Cliffs tomorrow, getting a nice toe in your slipstream ready to pounce in the final furlong Therefore tomorrow's be 1510 £1250 Canford Cliffs 7/4 as laid by Woolcombe Folly. I have laid Woolcombe Folly £1250 on Frankel at Evens in same race
And I will be like Frankel tomorrow, will be in front of Canford Cliffs come the final furlong and will just continue to cruise to the finish line and win! Therefore my bet for tomorrow will be; 15.10- Frankel - £1250 - Evens as laid by beeforsalmon I have laid beeforsalmon £1250 on Canford Cliffs at 7/4 in the same race
Beefy & WF. Do your lays replace the original bets. If your original bets stand then I don't think you have enough in the bank to cover your liabilities.
One good turn deserves another. However we may have a mathematical problem- I can't lay you more than £875 at evens if I've lost £2000 on CC on your lay bet I'm down to £1750 in my bank How much you want on- we can compromise though if you want more, I'll simply reduce my stake with you so that we're both happy? Say £1250 each? I think this stake will mean we're both covered. Any higher and one of us won't be capable of fulfilling our pay out, we'd be broke bookies Woolcombe
