At this level you have to take those chances, even if you are the better side. Still to me it looks as if we can do well enough in this league.
It may be obvious but you can have all the chances in the world but if you cannot take them then it only takes one quality strike to beat you. Ighalo is believing his own hype - time to drop the lad for a few games. The one silver lining is that Newcastle lost so with another game closer to the end of the season we are still 13 points clear with two of the bottom three still to play at home. This is the most important fact. Nothing else matters between now and the end of the season.
Have to agree with Vic. Igahlo needs benching for a spell. But who gets broughr in ? Or do we change tactics/formation ?
I don't think that the latest two signings are up to speed yet. I do not write them off, but how much we can expect from them this season remains to be seen. I agree that Ogahlo needs a rest, but just who have we got as a direct replacement?
Ighalo is a striker who has a goal scoring ego as such so will be confident in his own ability no matter what form he is in..
May as well get the other issue I have out in the open (while I am in full-on moan mode).... Far too many times we lost possession when trying to be over intricate with our passing out of defence and in the midfield. We are not a good enough passing side (yet) for this recipe to be successful. Ticky-tacka might work for Barcelona but for us - no.
Ok guys we have gone away to a top 4 or 5 team rest a few players lose 1 nil and have the hump that we did not get 1 point . tell the teams in the bottom 3 ( sorry dave we all hope you have a good run in) you mark my words we win 2 nil on sat then start complaining that we should have won 4 nil LOL
Of course had Ighalo scored one of his chance the whole tactical format of the game would have changed with us maybe sitting back... Sadly we'll never know.
Lots of comment from people at the game saying we should have had a penalty. It was not clear cut from what I noticed, but some are quite sure.
NBC showed several replays from different angles. Both commentators agreed it should have been a penalty.
Take nothing away from #watfordfc they are not a weak team. Not a shock they are where they are in the table. Brought the game to us. Good to see that some can see through a fortunate three points.
