Well onto Saturday and can we both draw to keep us above the mags ?, it looks like 2 from 3, Norwich, Mags and us. Villa need a miracle, I reckon 32 points will keep us up now ! 2 wins and 2 draws. We are lucky Norwich and Newcastle are terrible this season. Swansea and Bournemouth look safe.
There will be twists and turns, the agony of Spring for Sunderland supporters. It is going down to the wire
Looking more and more likely that at least one of the North East teams will be going down. This Derby could be the most important for some time.
It's pretty much a four-club mini-league now - Villa, Newcastle, Norwich and us. We've not much better chance of getting out of the bottom four than Villa have of avoiding relegation. They need 8 points and an eleven goal turnaround. We need six points and a ten goal turnaround to overtake Swansea. . The fight for 17th place is well and truly on now.
Not a cats chance in hell sunshine, we rested no less than 6 players tonight and still beat the Gunners, we will enjoy the visit of the canaries with our best starting XI, enjoy your Saints trip...........
Watching motd - Steven Taylor up to his old tricks "sniper in the ground" trying to get a pen ffs what a joke he his
People saying there's only four teams in it now.. it's like you've never watched the premier league before! There will be twists and turns yet, guaranteed. Still fully expect Palace to get dragged in. Swansea and Bournemouth aren't safe yet either, not by a long shot.
I think Norwich will beat Swansea on the weekend and that's them dragged straight back into it. Unfortunately, I think the Mags will beat Bournemouth and I fear for us against Southampton. This is football though and they'll be one or two unexpected results.
I didn't say it was mathematically certain we were going to be in the bottom four - that isn't sorted yet.. All I said was we have little better chance of catching Swansea than Villa have of avoiding relegation. If you can see Villa surviving then I see your point. Otherwise I don't, or not much anyway.
Like the top of the league the bottom is just as difficult to call as there is lots to go wrong before the season is over. Daft results for Arsenal and Spurs, ManU given a footballing lesson off Watford, ManC with a hangover etc. Still all to play for and like the previous seasons the fixture list counts for nowt other than another game to be played.
We did look very fatigued to be fair, slow decision making and not moving the ball around fast enough. The games are coming thick and fast, ideally this is the time of year we'd be tapping into squad resources but we've got too many injuries. Still, we played poorly and won and I'll take that any day over playing well and getting nothing.
Same **** different day, we severely lack consistency. Up one wknd, ****ing down the next.. would love to be a fly on the wall at training. BSA spoke highly of going away to Dubai and how the effects of sports psychology can have on his team. Atm it's a fail for me, why? The trip to Dubai should of consolidated our belief in putting away our chances, sadly west ham was a reverse of that. Secondly, mentally we 'are' still weak, when do we go on with a game after scoring and finish a team? The promoted teams have belted us. Why isn't the SOL a fortress? For ****s sake It should be. Much respect to the fans rocking up wk in wk out!
Can definitely see Newcastle sacking McClaren after Bournemouth this weekend if they don't take all three points. Tim Sherwood would be my guess for their next manager, I can't see anybody with an ounce of self respect taking the job.
