back 4 played really well. untroubled by Aguero and Silva. and we controlled the midfield and looked good up top. Firmino has settled in now and is now showing what he can do and Origi looked good leading the line.
Well c'mon. Despite City's flaws tonight. Has Klopp after the final said...playing to stay at club? I hope so. Flannigan owns RB...Clyne better than Moreno at LB...did we lose much from more defensive FB's? I think not. And more aggressive defending from FB shored up CB stability. If it goes on game to game form then LaLa has to start ahead of Coutinho...he did more tonight...if he doesn't next match? Well that's place competition! Hendo is still poor. Origi deserves to start next match...fitness doesn't guarantee a place performance does Sturridge....as all places should do.
Proved the "he's poor defensively" is bollox....covered behind his CB while connecting between midfield and forwards....
Toure and Lovern were good too. snuffed out City brilliantly. and I'd better not forget Clyne too. all played really well
Looking at that I don't think Milner and Lala get on...not that I give a feck as long as they play well.
No doubt Diego will say our victory was down to City having a poor game rather than us making them look very ordinary.
I am slightly worried he hasn't been given a new contract yet... I know some of us may be slightly biased, but surely Klopp can see the guy is a far superior defender to any of our other FB's?!
Klopp Already said today not to worry, be patient it was natural to wait to see how he came back from the injury and that he's the man...so far there's been no double talk from Klopp so I trust him.
Same. I'll be truly pissed off if we just let him go. He set the tone tonight with that very first tackle. Even Scholes as recognised that
Maybe but all we can do is repeat that. Play like that in packs, high energy and we have nothing to fear in the European draw against them... Fanny about again and cuo repeat.
This is the thing, I don't even think Chelsea are out of it. 8 points and 4/5 teams ahead of them would normally suggest no chance.. but none of the teams are consistent enough like previous years. If a team go and win 8 of the remaining 10 games I think anyone could easily nick that 4th place. It's all if's and but's. however if the league when we came 2nd was as inconsistent as it is now we'd have walked the league! We were unfortunate that City when on a crazy good run at the end of the season, where as this year, no one can win more than 2 or 3 games in a row!!
