Fair enough. Maybe the statistics are right, but I just don't see it. What I do see is a much better player when he's pushed up the park and has defensive cover behind him. I think he get's lost quite often when he has to defend. His positional awareness when we don't have the ball is not great tbh. An uncharitable observer might say he's all over the place. How many goals (not last night) have we conceded from attacks mounted down our right side? Perhaps the stats can tell us.

We'll agree to disagree re Koeman as it's a matter of opinion, he's flexible with his formations and lineups but that's more due to him not knowing his best team IMO. His style of play is very consistent though, something he and Poch have in common.

Why can't we afford to bring in established talent? I can only assume you mean established PL talent's because there are plenty of talent in Europe/South America that we could afford to bring in.

Since 2010 we've been on an upward trajectory which is fantastic, but that doesn't mean that I (and others) are wrong for pointing out where we're not doing so well,

Not really a comment on anything you've said but your crazily lively signature picture does make me skim past your posts...

Agree on Batshuayi (and Beefy mentioned we'd looked at him).

I was drunk last night and working all day today. All I know is the score. Is it best to leave it that way?

    24 hours on. My thoughts.

Well, I think that several people on this thread have read it a little incorrectly. I don't think at all that Bournemouth played anything other than excellently. Anyone watching us this season couldn't have failed to notice that we have a great deal of trouble defending against teams that press (oh, the irony). Bournemouth came out to press, did so very well indeed and left us unable to structure anything at all in terms of attacks.

I've seen the same in every game against a pressing team this season so I see Bournemouth as having planned well and stuck to the plan.

I'm not so upset I missed the game now. I've read a lot of the posts and it's really funny. We lose a game no-one thinks we should lose and play badly - were ****. Koeman's rubbish and its all doom and gloom. We go 6 games without conceding a goal and we're going to finish 5th or maybe threaten 4th.

    Football fans on emotion. Lovely.

It's part of being a fan - and what makes football great. The up's and down's. It honestly ruins my mood for a good few days when saints lose. (I know that's sad!)
I think it's fair enough to criticise the Bournemouth performance personally. I'm sure even the players will be deeply unhappy.

Who said it wasn't ok to criticise the performance?

I can't comment on it as I haven't seen a moment of it.

The very lovely Mrs Godders:emoticon-0115-inlov drove me to the pub and sat me inside with my mates and got me three double scotches lined up and went home to listen to the game on the wireless (she thinks my mates are a bit too rough for her liking because they use F words and even worse sometimes). To her credit she appeared a few minutes after the second goal and said she had come to take me home before I got too depressed and drank far more than was good for my wallet. The only good thing about the game was that it may have made Bournemouth safe and with any luck if Brighton get promoted at the end of the season then the 2016/17 season will have the south coast's three top teams in the PL. I will of course also be disappointed if Eastleigh do not get promoted. I don't think I have forgotten anyone of any importance in my comments.

That is why we love the game, and dreams quickly turn to despair and visa versa
