The one I have hated is flexible hours for women that don't go to men. Example and I'll be careful here. 4 staff in office I used to work in had kids and came back after maternity and chose their own "part time hours" not total part time now, where they'd job share and free up a post for another person. No 2/3rds hours etc mixing it up with a huge bulk of leave they got for not being at work during maternity... One guy in same office asks for same kind of deal to look after his mum with Alzheimer's was told full time or half hours part time... Yet all you hear is the govt trying to free up hospital beds from elderly and here is a guy prepared to use his leave to keep his mum at home in what turned out to be her last year of life. Had to go contracted part time and remains so while these women kept their quasi hours while all applying for and two getting promotions to full time positions. Sorry but two issues. Why just babies get you the deals And if you can not work full time at this grade how can you apply for a job that states full time hours as a prerequisite. They got the jobs then went part time .....again... Nonsense.
I'd presume a) theres a procedure for the job share stuff b) there's no procedure for his particular case as its unique to him. I mean if he said hey i've cancer and need 6 months there's a clear procedure isn't there? etc etc. for those who applied for a job with full time required and got away with going part time again.. they should be black listed in the files only IBWT gets to see.
RE the issue whoever it was raised about men being better off single What are the benefits of being in a relationship for a bloke other than the constantly frustrating fact for single dudes that supermarkets and food companies obviously gear the size/price of many of their products towards couples / families, obviously not fresh produce, and the knowledge of regularly available ploughing without having to wade into the hit and miss arena of your bars/clubs/pubs/internet
right benefits of relationships: 1. shopping done 2. regular sex 3. women in general want to clean up so if you are sneaky she'll have done this for you while you work. dishes 4. ironing... men cannot iron. 5. can send women to buy clothes (yeah they buy what they want but isn't it ****ing great not to have to go clothes shopping) 6. cooking (shared) 7. someone to look after you and make sure you take your pills. It really depends whats important to you. theres quite a few on here that sound like tv and pub is their life.
The official line for post children is an attempt must be made to accommodate the (usually woman) in flexible working hours. Now my view on that is two options that show an attempt at accommodation. Do over full time hours on say three days to get reduced or no hours on two days...post covered you get full pay. Or Job share with two people sharing one full time post. Problem is too many managers in our place scared to look harsh against women or holding them back in their careers. So tasks get juggled and dumped on others full time childless workers etc so they just give these cases what they want. Once it's done once it sets a precedent and has to be done for all. As you say the guy didn't have a baby so doesn't get included in the precedent. In fact they had to create a higher grade post eventually to cover all the tasks not done in the four posts lost hours because quite rightly the full timers kicked off about extra work....madness. Flexible working arrangements are also only supposed to cover the first four years but that seems to have disappeared or they have another kid and repeat the cycle. Now before anyone starts I understand the issue which is why I always thought maternity should be available to either parent. Then it becomes economic. Can you afford to have a kid collectively and either both work full time or one of you part time etc. Too often I've seen work passed to those who have decided they can't afford to fo it all so that others can enjoy it all because they just went ahead anyway.
He's talking about the Royal Air Force not the Royal Arse ****ed. When Charles was younger it's true most of that RAF were men.
in my current case: 1. shopping done - some 2. regular sex - no ta 3. women in general want to clean up so if you are sneaky she'll have done this for you while you work. dishes - some 4. ironing... men cannot iron. I can, but she actually enjoys it 5. can send women to buy clothes (yeah they buy what they want but isn't it ****ing great not to have to go clothes shopping) - don't get involved 6. cooking (shared) - She does that, but not very frequently. I don't cook. 7. someone to look after you and make sure you take your pills.- She did look after me when i went down the stairs and did my groins.
Are they the ones that get sent to live and grow up in the mail system, inside parcels and postboxes and that ?? Have heard about the horrors of this on a documentary recently
