It's all down to a risk assessment that probation prepares on him.

 

Purely a guess, but I'm thinking the fact the judge has sent them out to see if they can get a majority of 10-2 must mean that there is currently a majority thinking he is guilty of count one - or did he originally need a unanimous verdict for not guilty too?

 

They have already decided on the 2nd charge 10-2, the judge has sent them away to see if they can reach majority, but if not then he'll accept the 10-2.

Bet your last quid if he gets 'guilty' here he'll be granted a retrial because of that juror who can't work tomorrow or Friday.

 

If they reach a guilty verdict, that's it mate. No retrial, unless his solicitor can find new evidence but he'll be in jail by then anyway waiting for the retrial.

I'd say that's fair given the evidence. He's probably still going to avoid prison for those offences.

Not sure now, he hasn't got his guilty pleas to fall back on to prove his 'remorse' ()

I reckon (hope) the judge will make an example of him now.

You could be right mate, but I'm going back to what Bri was saying about prison crowding, other people getting off for similar stuff. I think I might just be putting the opposite out there, into the universe to what I want to happen in the hope that the universe ****s on me!
