Council approve plans to paint Albion Towers red & white: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/14314758.Southampton_tower_block_will_be_painted_red_and_white/ A different mock up from yesterdays and looks better than that one too!!
Bit early for an April fools, so I'm going to assume this might really happen. But one thought occurs; in spite of the location, there has to be a chance of at least one family of pompey fans living in that block. What are they supposed to do? Move out?
I posted the article on here yesterday and I wasn't sure at first if it was serious or not, but apparently it is. As for Pompey fans, I doubt there's many Saints fans living in there to be honest
I was being facetious, but under sexual discrimination laws, you can't have a benefit that can only favour one sex. Was introduced to protect women, but I was suggesting, that in this case, they are favouring women.
Ref telemarketers/scammers, I tired so much of the call from "Windows Support" that I eventually put a virtual machine on my PC (this is a program that runs on your PC and, to all intents and purposes, acts just like a PC itself). So I went throught he call, let them take control of the virtual machine, let them tell me about all the "viruses" it had and generally acted like an incompetent buffoon (not at all hard for me). It took about 40 minutes to get to the money. I gave my credit card number as 4929 8766 8734 76HC. The pause at the other end was comical. We agreed that they needed another card number, so I gave them 4673 8874 8999 AM72 - repeated half a dozen times until I started laughing so hard I couldn't breathe. They haven't phoned since. Another way to handle them is as per this (genuinely funny and worth the effort to listen): Vin
I have an idea - find a way of giving men the pain, nuisance and cost of periods then give them time off if they want it
I've been thinking about it and now I've gone and done it. A friend of mine asked me to take a look at his Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 because it wasn't charging at all and sometimes failing to turn on even with a good battery. As I have one of my own I quickly established, through substitution, that it was nothing silly like the battery failing. For the non-charging It was the charging port, so I bought the required circuit board, brand new off ebay. Also, I've bought a couple of minor circuitry pieces, also new, to replace the on/off button circuitry. Total cost: £2.98. Yes, less than 3 quid. I've had the little jewel open to put the charging port in and now that works a treat, and I've discovered why it won't turn on [the battery will still charge while the phone is off - this is correct]. So now there's a little map in my head on the Galaxy S2 internals. I might take this game up and dispense with fixing computers. More challenging!
I see Lee Nelson [Simon Brodkin] is up to his old tricks again. After showering Sepp Blatter with cash notes, this time he's interrupting a VW car launch. He may be doing it for self promotion, but what he is also highlighting is that VW and the people who make a purchasing decision have to realise that the suspicion is not going away, nor should it. Often, when an individual, or company, is caught doing something wrong, and it's a confessional situation, they'll go and do something wrong straight afterwards, knowing full well that the attention might have fallen off them. As they had been caught red-handed before, they absurdly feel they might be safe. After all, nobody would try it again, would they. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-35705628
Neighbour's dog is at it again. She might notice if I put an E-collar on it and shotguns and lobbed bricks usually offend, so looking for alternatives. A radio against the wall might help, but will also annoy me as I hate background music. Have googled it and you can get a high-pitched device to distract the mutt. The thing is that if they really worked there would be no barking dogs, so suspect they might not. Keeping that as a back up idea. What she needs to do is take it for a 45-60 min walk every morning. She has kids and may find that difficult, but then she shouldn't have bought an Alsatian. I actually like dogs, but they need training. Going to give it a big longer and hope it settles.
Used to work with a guy in Denmark who trained police dogs in his spare time. His mantra - "There are no bad dogs, only bad owners" ......... That's what I think - she's an idiot getting an Alsatian if she can't manage it. I suggest you go round and, politely, tell her that it's barking all day and disturbing the neighbourhood. I'd hope she'd listen, but, these days, who knows ................ Good luck!
