What are people thinking about line ups? Dependant on Townsend, even if he passes a fitness test is there much point rsiking him, last thing we need is him having 4 weeks off!

    --------------Elliot------------------
    Janmaat Taylor Dummett Colback

    Sissoko Saviet Shelvey Perez/Townsend

    ------------Mitro --- Doumbia ---------------

We could pack out the midfield and play 5, we could sit back and try and defend once again, but it hasnt worked for 2/3rds of the season, so im not sure why it work again tonight.

I'd not start Wijnaldum, if we are going to attack and keep the ball, lets do it properly and play with two out and out strikers as oppossed to this number 10 bollox! With two strikers in the middle the defence will be very occupied with the two and there will be space on the wings, fill the box and you never know!

Players will be rusty and therefore having a strong bench would be useful, If Townsend is fit and theres a low chance of him becoming injured, start him, get him running up and down, tire them out then around the 60-65 min, freshen it, bring Wijni, perez and Aarons on, all blessed with pace and pretty useful when the other team is tiring!

I've got my optimistic hat on and I am going for a very dull 0-0 draw with absolutely no decent football on show for the entire 90 minutes.

Townsend's not playing, picked up a knock.

We're getting beat - as we've all known and said a thousand times, Tufty needs someone to lead him, he's not a leader himself. This club needs a manager somewhere, we don't have a single one. Over-sensitive owner - over-promoted secretary - over-inflated-ego scout - over-aged mascot - over-negative coach. We talk of leaders on the pitch, we don't even have one off the pitch.

I'd agree McClaren is not a man manager, think he would be a good option as D.o.F. in Charlneys place, he has good contacts here and abroad and has an eye for youth development but not good enough to get the best out of these overpaid premadonnas. We then get someone it who isn't afraid to bruise a few egos and kick a few boots around the changing room. These players are a bit to precious at the moment and need someone to give them a massive kick up the arse and let them know they aren't as good as they think they are.

Yeah, I think a solution (not THE solution) is right in front of us. Don't sack him, even keep him on this stupid "board", but give him more control over the football side and remove him from the first team. Put someone hardcore in charge of the first team - De Boer, perhaps, who will probably have a bit of respect for Schmilin' Schteve.

No if Tufty goes anywhere it's got to be out the back door of the club never to return, if he loses tonight he has no credibility left and would be like a bad luck charm hanging around the place.

Not another player hurt in training. This whole saga is getting too ridiculous for words. Who the f.ck is crocking our players?

Townsend has picked up a knock, wtf is a knock exactly. I really don't get how our players are constantly injured when they are not even playing competitive games.
Also whilst l am on a rant, why does it take so long for them to recover from apparently minor bumps and bruises.
I cannot understand why our squad is so bloody delicate !

2 games in hand on the relegation rivals and you just know we'll **** it up and get zero points.
The cowards will get hammered tonight.

I'm going to err on the side of optimism, but only because there's no alternative - it's not worth contemplating what happens if we get a pasting. Why? Because Macca's going nowhere regardless, and even in the remote chance he did, we've got that useless kent Charnley choosing the alternative (Carver's still out of work, I believe).

I think Steve will most likely go with:

    Elliot
    Janmaat Lascelles Saylor Dummett

    Shelvey Colback

    Sissoko Wijinaldum Aarons/Towns

    Doumbia/Mitro

Personally I would be playing Tiote and Saviet together in a game like this with Shelvey ahead of them to fire in the passes to Doumbia (preferably) If Townsend isnt fit I would play Aaron's on the left and Sissoko on the right
