Just out of curiosity I Googled what a Jury can claim for expenses whilst serving -

What you can claim
You can usually claim for:

• travel
• lunch and refreshments
• loss of earnings and other expenses, eg employing a child-minder or carer (outside your usual care arrangements)

Financial support and benefits (like Jobseeker’s Allowance) are unaffected for the first 8 weeks while on jury service.

There’s a maximum daily amount you can claim each day for loss of earnings and other expenses.

Travel and parking costs
How you travel to court The court will pay
Bus or underground Cost of the ticket
Train Cost of the ticket (2nd class return fare)
Bicycle 9.6p per mile
Motorcycle 31.4p per mile
Car 31.4p per mile - ask the court for permission if you need to pay for parking
Car - for one other juror as a passenger 4.2p per mile
Car - for each additional passenger 3.2p per mile
Taxi The fare - ask the court for permission before using a taxi
Food and drink
Length of time each day you’re away from home or work The court will pay up to
Up to and including 10 hours a day £5.71 per day
Over 10 hours a day £12.17 per day
If the court asks you to stay overnight The court will arrange accommodation


Not so much as I thought - so probably not worth their while making their deliberations last until the Easter Holidays

 

Unless they're all on jobseekers...

lol, if that was the case then he would have been found not guilty by now.

But by prolonging it, the people of Bradford are getting money for nothing. They love that

The verdict will be quick here

 

all parties called into court now, verdict must have been reached........

 

The jury were only deliberating for about 5 hours in total. That's nothing, it's going to be a not guilty verdict.

Not guilty on count two. No decision on other charge.

Which is count 2?? The oral??

 

Not guilty on one of them.

 

According to Josh Halliday:

Breaking: Adam Johnson found NOT guilty on one count of sexual activity with a child. Undecided on other count.

Judge saying he will accept 10-2 on the other charge.

 

That is VERY interesting...

 

When will he be sentenced for the other two charges? Guessing they still have to get reports, etc??

 

All the reports might already be prepared, mate. I'd imagine he will be sentenced once this other charge is decided.

 

**** - never mind the decision the jury have to make....
