I'm not saying anything. A part of me worries about hitting the summit just a tad too early.

Mason's return to full fitness really couldn't have come at a better time. With Dembele still out and Alli perhaps 50-50 to start tomorrow, what an option to chuck in and rely on.

A must win game, as pressure must be heaped on the Goons prior to the NLD.
The fact the win puts Spurs top is purely incidental.

Not must win. A draw will do nicely thank you.

With that surprise result at Leicester, I'm really starting to feel the butterflies. I would happily take a draw in all honesty. We've done very, very well flying just below the radar until now and I'm with Dona in not wanting that to change just yet. Even tonight, not a single pundit or newsfeed was talking up Spurs as title favourites. They were all going on abut how entertaining the Leicester game had been and how the 'champions elect' had provided such a brilliant advert for PL football. At this stage, with a lot of games still to come and two of our most experienced players out injured (Jan and Mousa), I would in a perverse way prefer us to remain hidden just behind the stage curtain, ready to pounce when we're back to full strength. WBA really went for Leicester physically and mentally, as will the 4-5 teams they still need to play who aren't assured of their PL survival next year. Rondon's goal finally showed Huth up for what he really is - a bang average defender who wasn't good enough for f*cking Stoke City who has gotten this far because he simply hasn't been shoulder barged enough.

Leicester will drop more points. I can't fully explain why, but I don't want us to go top (if we do) until after the international break. Beyond Dortmund, finally gotten a breather, Jan, Clinton and Mousa all back. I'd just feel much more at ease with my inner Spur.

Don't agree. I'd tale a point, but not to stay off top.

If it was 2 teams maybe, but we can still have the other two come up behind us,mand they wont be worrying about hitting he top formsure.

Plus I don't think it matters. The players are up for this. Every game. They dont care if we're top or not. They are just going out there to fight for a win come what may.

They're up for this. It's game on now. Every point is like gold, and the bous are out to eat up every point they can get their hands on.

    "Not must win."

    Must win.
Every PL game is now, until the moment that the results no longer affect
    Spurs PL aspirations.

Tonight we find out if we can step up to the challenge or are we going to be Spursy?

Its a defining game, because its the first time we can go top. Let's see if everything we all feel about our team and its new found mentality is for real.

Normally this match is a Cup Final for only one of the participants, tonight it will be like a Cup Final for both teams.

I read an interesting article by JJ regarding Lasangagate. He was saying normally all the players would stay at home prior to a Wet Spam fixture because it is so close but because the match was so important it was decided that they would go to a hotel for 'togetherness'. He said players were puking during Martin Jol's team talk and everyone was dead on their feet even before kick off.

I hope that they all had a good night at home last night.

And as for being top it brings unique pressures, you know it's not paranoia, everyone is after you. However, we need to be 3 points in front of the rest on the last day of the season because Leicester have the Chavs and we all know what the result will be there. If the chavs can **** it up for us they will.

The Chavs could well be playing for a Europa Cup spot :)

Quick question, if, and it's a massive if, we were to win the Europa League and the Premiership, would 5th place in the Prem get a CL spot?

No. If Liverpool, Chelsea or Man Utd finish outside of the top 4 and win the EL or CL then they get an additional spot, though.
If two of them were to do it, then I believe that they would both get in, but 4th place would miss out.

No. England only get an extra spot if the EL or CL winners finish outide the top 4.

He's right, on our Gold mine we have to work as a team, I wouldn't say we shake hands every morning but when someone returns off leave, everyone will shake that persons hand and welcome them back. Returning from a good leave with the prospect of working at least 12 hours a day 7 days a week for up to 14 weeks can be daunting but the welcome one gets prepares one for the trials ahead and cements the team work ethic.

The odds must be against us winning which is why I would take a draw.
How often does a team win 7 league games in a row and with the NLD next up, I would rather win that than have to say how often 8 games in a row.
Of course I want to win every game but I am a stats sort of person and trying to be realistic.

Tonight's game is a must win, we will be going for the three points. The home crowd will be demanding a win and the spanners will pile forward and we will soak up the pressure and hit them on the counter. I expect a comfortable win and pile on the pressure for the goons
