Awful performance, no shape to the team, couldn't string two passes together. Don't think Boruc was really tested apart from a brave dive at the feet of Mane. Forster was truly dreadful.
Has he ever played twice in one week? We missed him tonight, that's true. I think he makes Romeu a better player too.
Ahaha so predictable. Not much to do this evening Artur. You could have sent that message during the game!
As Saints are unlikely to qualify for Europe and highly unlikely to go down it is nice to give Bournemouth a helping hand to stay in the PL. It's not as if the Suth Coast is a hotbed for football, so having two PL teams from the Solent will be wonderful if the Cherries pick up another 9 or 10 points to achieve this objective.
Were overrun in midfield for entire first half. Thought we might be. Haven't read any comments but thought Fonte was shaky throughout. He should have seen the ball into touch, for the first goal, even if he himself had put it into row Z. Second goal, not sure it was a "real " free kick (thought Bournemouth conned the ref all night, TBH). Great ball in, but Forster could have done better. God only knows why he held his hands down by his sides, when the ball was 6 or 7ft off the ground??? Even allowing for Afobe getting there ahead of him, he should have had his hands up to try and parry the header. Shocking performance all round.
According to Sky we had 6 shots with only 1 on target. Bournemouth had 9 with 4 on target. The best team won and this time the stats don't lie.
If there's a positive, it's that this match doesn't matter in the slightest, because Donald Trump's impending Super Tuesday win will awaken Chthulu and usher in the end of times. So we have that going for us.
I'm at work, so was only able to catch a bit of audio here and there and track some live commentary. It sounded like Surman did alright, which still makes me a bit happy even if it was against us. Other than that, sounded like we rather mediocre. The various reports/audio didn't make it seem quite as bad as posters here, but it definitely wasn't good either. Sounds like Mane and JWP are the scapegoats of the day. Hey, remember that last game when everyone bitched about how bad Koeman's decision was to use Pelle as a sub and it obviously should have been Mane or JWP? It was a whole three days ago.
Wasn't expecting quite this level of hysteria. One poor performance and suddenly everything's **** again? Really? We struggled to get into the game, away from home, against determined opponents. It's a night to forget imo, not a cause for despair.
