Got a bad feeling about this one, teams always seem to end their bad streaks against us, palace played well second half against wba and pardew will want to get one over on us. Has a feel of one of those games where we play well, batter them all over, concede on the break in the 80th minute and lose 1-0. Hope I'm wrong like!
No .If I persuade you to eat a pie, there's less for me. Decent pie, but like a lot of things don't live up to the memory/perception of how you remember them. For me it was when we bought them on matchday from the shop that used to be opposite the New Derby. Hot and juicy. How many times did I leave Roker park having watched a terrible 3-0 defeat, the type where the lowly opposition kick us all over, referee does nothing, they spoil the game score three on the break, ref turns down our penalties and we played **** anyway. That's it I'm not coming next game. One Gelders Pie later, and the arrangements were being made for next week - even if it was just the pie we were looking forward to !
I'm away to pick the bairn up now, call into my Mothers for some tea and then off to the match we go... Team for tonight. -------------- Pickford -------------- Yedlin - Kone - O'Shea - PVA ------------- Kirchhoff ------------ -------- M'Vila -- Rodwell --------- Khazri --------------------- Borini -------------- Defoe ----------------- HAWAY THE LADS!!!
I got a bad feeling from this game too , but for different reasons . Your "Tough " run is over since we played you and you got more points than I though you'd get due to the United game . Although Sunderland only got 5 points from 6 games , barring the Spurs game , you guys played very well which is worrying for me . My heart wants Sunderland to get nothing the rest of the way , my head thinks that the " Rabbit out of the hat " finish you guys are accustomed to the past few seasons could just about begin .Here's hoping ...........NOT.
We need the three points tonight, Palace have some decent players but recent form shows we don't have much to fear from them, just need to hope that Defoe has his shooting boots on tonight and the likes of Khazri and N'Doye play more like they did against Man U than they did at the weekend. I quite like the look of the team that 83 has suggested but I can't see big Sam dropping Manone even thought he can't pass water.
Thats the trouble with all us Sunderland fans - scared to be too positive - just have to settle for hopeful - - must keep the negative demons at bay - its very hard though when tonights sort of game approaches - we tend to shoot ourselves in the foot - but if we are clinical tonight - a big 3 pts and look forward to Victory on April 2
Team news from the SoL Published: 01 March, 2016 by Kate Smith Allardyce names his side to face Crystal Palace. Sam Allardyce has made one change to the side that slipped to a narrow defeat at West Ham United. The Black Cats boss has handed Jack Rodwell a start ahead of Lee Cattermole for tonight’s game against Crystal Palace. The rest of the side remains unchanged, with DeAndre Yedlin starting ahead of Billy Jones and Seb Larsson and Younes Kaboul both on the bench and yet to feature since returning from injury at the weekend. Sunderland: Mannone, Yedlin, van Aanholt, O’Shea (c), Kone, Kirchhoff, Rodwell, M’Vila, Khazri, N’Doye, Defoe. Subs: Pickford, Cattermole, Borini, Jones, Kaboul, Larsson, Toivonen
I know same here? We dont need Catts defensive side to the team now we have Kirchoff and I wouldnt keep him in the team over Mvilla, do im glad hes been dropped for Jack.
Not Catts biggest fan but think he had a part to play tonight. WTF has Rodwell done other than miss two sitters. They will be chuffed Cattermole is out.
He still managed to get himself in those positions the little time he was on the pitch though. How many times do we see Catts in the opposing box? We dont need 3 defensive midfielders at home in a must win game.
