Fair point, Geacc. Bur I did say it was 'dipping into the future'. I would like to see Yedlin make that change. I can't see him making the very top grade as a full back, but has the two most basic requirements for a winger in spades. I admit it was a bit naughty to put him in though, as the OP asked for what's best from the last nine years. :emoticon-0148-yes:

    Yedlin's awesome. As a sprinter.

    Yedlin's awful. As a defender.

I don't like being negative about players (except Rodwell, can't help it, abject disappointment kicks in everytime I hear his name), but who on earth decided Yedlin would make a good right-back?

There's more to football than being able to run fast.

My pair up front would be Jones and Cisse or Gyan and Cess these two combinations had so much potential but once again we only got glimsess of it, before anybody highlights my aadyslexic spelling give yourself a shiek. <laugh> And no Craig Gordon for me, Mig every time imo.

Yes. That's why I said "two" basic assets for a winger. His crossing isn't at all bad either. If you can get the ball (either with Beckham's positioning or Yedlin's speed) and deliver it well, then your strikers get many more good chances (not that I'm comparing Yedlin with Beckham just yet like! <laugh>)

Yedlin is pure dross. Haven't quite worked out if he's worse than Jones yet but neither are remotely Premier League standard imo. Will Yedlin develop enough to make the grade? I don't think so. He'll be off back to the US after a Spurs get shot I reckon.

This 100%. He's garbage. Won't make a premier league footballer at all IMO.

I'd try Matthews as long as he's fit - he can't be any worse than those 2.

    I'd also definitely sign Eboue.

Eboue looked dreadful last night apparently but then his fitness is still going to be way off. Not sure what the crack is with Matthews.

    ------------------Gordon
    Bardsley -- Brown -- Mensah -- Rose
    ---------------Catermole
    --------Henderson -- Zenden
    Wellbeck------------------------Malbranque
    -------------------Cisse

Would be my pick, I loved Cisse in my opinion he was one of the most exciting players we've had in our prem years, shame he didn't turn up often enough particularly in the back half of the season.
