yes the truth does hurt, which is why, presumably, you're on the Leeds board. You've finally come to the realisation that Hull City are still the underdogs in this relationship, noone cares about you, and your time in the spotlight has ended and the opportunity for another is very quickly moving out of reach. So you come on here to try and wind us up (unsuccessfully, since we still have a better squad than you) to make yourself feel better.
no but the fact that his confidence is clearly bollocksed does write him off. I don't understand why, those 2 at the end of the season should have set him up to start flying.
Wait until the start of the season. Anyone remember "Rosco" who posted a thread asking what we thought about McCormack and then promptly disappeared?
he's got a lot of skill and causes defenses all sorts of problems pressure wise, but he's had no end product. It's incredibly frustration, and it's probably down to mental weakness.
Payner is a 1 in 3 goalscorer at League 1 level, McCormack is a 1 in 4 scorer at Championship level. Relying on either to provide our bread and butter goals while Somma and Becchio are out will be an invitation to a relegation dogfight. McCormack is a good technical player, but really, he should be a centre attacking midfielder, behind the front two, or a winger, because he simply is not a natural striker. All the pre-season reports already are full of McCormack missed this, McCormack missed that.
I think saying relegation dog fight is a bit strong, I'm confident we will be mid table at worst, a team with Gradel, Snoddy Howson etc there is far to much quality o go down, and if kissy is back then the defence will be a lot more solid.
If Gradel, McCormack and Nunez all play on the opening day with McCormack as loan striker I have a feeling we are going to be relying on him setting up Nunez or Gradel if we want goals and a win.
Weird looking at this thread I started a while back. Not many people thought Big Mac would be our man this season, but there he sits on top of the leading goalscorers list. Just shows what a difference a month makes...
I always felt he needed games and needed to build his confidence up, and so it has proven to be. Grayson has to take great credit for getting McCormack, the problem now will be keeping him, as Bates will already be thinking of the money he might bring in come January 2012.
Keogh has been more than a small part in McCormack's rise up the goalscorer ranks. Let us not forget that.
Keogh has done very well at Leeds and I think most Leeds fans would be more than happy if he stayed with us. McCormack is a special player and you need to man manage him, so to give Grayson credit, he may actually be doing that now (although I'm still concerned about McCormack's comments at the end of the game on Friday, but perhaps I'm reading too much in what he said). I think Becchio and McCormack will be just as good as Keogh and McCormack, but we need to accept just what Keogh has brought to the club since he came back.
Becchio and McCormack will be a good partnership for different reasons. Keogh is definitely better than Becchio at some stuff, I'd say he's a bit quicker and slightly more skilled with his feet. Becchio's work rate and eye for goal are second to none though.
Shine? McCormack has 8 goals already this season. Keogh looks great as the support man. Becchio can only add to the mix. Forssell as a back up. Paynter warming bench just in case. Somma to return. They are all playing for their future... McCormack has gone beyond a shine, he is glowing in the ****ing dark (kit helps).
