So what did you kids read?

All the way Marvel for me. DC was awful, shyte like Matter Eating Lad who was just a fat cnut who ate everything, if that is a super power then there are plenty on Not606 who are true heros.

This thread is strictly for ****s and *****s.

Picked up a copy of 2000 AD when kipping on a bird's sofa whilst coming down from my first ever acid trip. It made an indelible impression, let's say.

When I say "kipping", I mean I had no idea at the time that this was going to be impossible.

Loved the Freak Bros, shame the writers could only manage a handful of issues in over 4 decades, too stoned to churn out more I suppose. Some of the Robert Crumb stuff was good too.

I confess to not having bought a comic in over 25 years so I have no idea what is going on with the scene now. Back in the day Dark Horse were also very good with their adaptations of Clive Barker's Hellraiser stuff.

Viz is out there in a class of its own. Never got on with MAD though.

Drug dealers houses in the 70s were a bit like dentists waiting rooms; always a pile of old Freak Brothers and 2000AD comics to flick through while you waited hours for the **** to show up. Also, as I remember, copies of Motorcycle News.

I have some Vaughn Bode' comics that are quite collectable , the characters were lizards and graf artists used to spray them on trains back in the day.

I was a sucker for free gifts in comics, usually given away with the first 3 issues.

    Anyone recall "Thunder Bangs"?
