Agreed on Zac Clough and he looks good. Can play striker - midfield or winger. Would not cost that much either.

Indeed so. Any buyer will rake in a fortune by leaving it as a car park.

Bolton Wanderers: Ownership decision could be made before QPR game

Bolton Wanderers could make a decision on new ownership before Saturday's home game against Queens Park Rangers, BBC Radio Manchester understands.

It is understood that three parties are interested in buying Wanderers from current owner Eddie Davies.

Banker Roger Tamraz, Bolton Wanderers Supporters Trust and a consortium led by Dean Holdsworth are in the running.

The Championship club are scheduled to appear in the High Court on Monday over an unpaid tax bill of around £3m.

Bolton could face the threat of a winding-up order from Revenue & Customs if they fail to pay their tax bill, but avoided an immediate order in January before their case was adjourned until 22 February.

The Trotters are £172.9m in debt and currently under a transfer embargo for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

Tamraz is the only option with any financial clout!

    The purchase price means nothing.

It's the % of debt the new owners take on that is the major factor plus if the club is losing a couple of million per month then that's
all part of the cost as well.

Unless something has changed, I think all the debt is being written off, though obviously the ongoing losses will have to be covered.

I think you're right re the debt. Sounds like everyone was waiting for poor old Phil Gartside to pop his clogs before the deal went through.

I've read that under the terms of the deal Eddie Davies is still owed £15.5million. Everything above that must have been written off.

Dean Holdsworth Chairman?? I genuinely wish the guy all the best and hope he overcomes the remaining hurdles over the next 14 days, but what experience other than having played for the club previously does he bring?? Just listening to him wouldn't fill me with confidence. I'm surprised his group secured the period of confidentiality and preference from Trevor Birch. All the best to Bolton and hope he's not simply delaying the inevitable with a club that's supposedly losing in excess of £1m a month. Lots of cost cutting etc just around the corner I fear

I hope it works out for them, but the headline figure paid isn't going to even come close to what it'll cost to keep them afloat.

Quick calculation shows and average of £12k per week for those top earners

That's probably on the low side for the Championship.

and bonuses on top! Local mates there reckon one player in particular could take home as much as £2m though obviously this year that's not going to happen given their league position etc

£7.5m to complete the purchase, plus £15.5m of debt, plus losing £1m a month and on the verge of relegation! Eddie Davies heart and Gartside's mismanagement are to blame. They gambled on getting back to the Prem and when it didn't happen and parachute payments stopped they started going downhill fast and at face value did very little to address that

How, when they were already in this position, did £7k a week for Heskey get sanctioned?

Or £16k per week for Amos last Summer, less than 8 months ago?

Thats a ridiculous gamble on top of the debt they already had.
