I've just watched the highlights on MOTD. Watch again and you can see that Fraser is (against my original judgement) at fault for the first goal. He's so intent on appealing for the ball being out of play (and it wasn't) that when Fabregas hits the cross/shot, Fraser has both hands in the air still appealing. He's just not in the ready position for the cross coming in. Schoolboy error; play to the whistle. Vin
We know, he's at fault for the goal, everyone knows, but the big man has reignited our season since his return & looks like he has fully recovered which is brilliant. I watched him in a reserve match and I swear he cringed every time he kicked the ball, he looked so uncomfortable. So, he broke the Saints record then chucked one in the net, welcome back big man, on to the cherries.
Watch it again and tell me if he was ready - he wasn't concentrating on what was happening. I should stress that I do believe it's very uncharacteristic; his ability to keep on the ball all the time has been demonstrated time and again but this time he just wasn't focussed. Vin
Not really geeky. I thought most people were aware of it, but even Cahill had a go at the linesman, second half, when Long ran back from behind him to challenge for the ball at another goal kick. Wait until next season when I think the ball can be kicked backwards from a kick off!! That will confuse a few.
Didn't Mane win more headers too? Certainly won the header to the CF that he shouldn't have and that Pelle (probably) wouldn't have.
'Assistant referee Stephen Child was flagging to bring referee Martin Atkinson's attention to an altercation between Chelsea's Kenedy and Cedric Soares in the early part of this move. It appeared that Kenedy kicked out at Soares after being impeded by the Southampton player but fortunately for Chelsea, and quite rightly in my view, Atkinson overruled his assistant and gave the advantage to the Blues who eventually scored from Costa's outstanding endeavour. I do wish that assistants would allow referees to do their job" Garth crooks is a nob
Never bother listening to anything the man says - his parents (a couple of crooks) couldn't spell Gareth though, so what hope did he have?
Thats an interesting one. I'm not saying he was the sole reason we lost BUT I think we would have won with a different substitution. Sort that one out
Chelsea Matchday Uncovered. Key moments. Jay stroking his beard at the overhead camera. The Saints canopy that needs a good hosing down to remove the dirt. I've seen this several times and the dirt just accumulates. Somebody needs to do it. And finally, RONALD! Don't open a sliver of chewing gum, pop it in your mouth and throw the wrapper on the floor. BAD example. There are enough people around who don't know that their pockets can be temporary bins until they get home.
I think we MIGHT have won if Shane had stayed on, which is not the same thing. I also think we COULD have won if we hadn't lost our collective marbles over Costa's antics. The latter way more important than the former imo.
