Another year in the title challenge, and once again we bottle it big time with such bad form, we can no longer say this is a 'coincidence', this is a clear pattern, the teams have changed, but the pattern remains, the only common denominator and constant throughout it all is the manager. It's undeniable that Wenger is the problem, it's gotten so boring now with the same story every year, we are getting ripped off big time. Wenger is a legend, but his time is up, he no longer has what he had 10 years ago, to win us leagues, this club is going to be in trouble if he's around next year, can't see too many fans putting up with it.
You will find I have always been Wenger out, so there is no pendulum swinging, I have been very consistent.
He has the safest job in world football. No matter what we say he will not be going. The best I can do in May is refuse to renew my season ticket. No more, I have been robbed for so long.
You're being a bit harsh when you consider he's only had 12 years to build this team, so he's only really at the start of his journey. Give him as much time or money as Ranieri or Poch have had with their respective clubs and he'd be doing as well as them I'd wager. Be careful what you wish for.
The thing wrong with Arsenal is mentality. The entire club just lacks that winning edge or thought process. This is not something that can be changed by just buying players. It has to be the management, the people behind the scenes that go. I think even the most supportive of fans have to agree mentally things are just not right at Arsenal, and unfortunately it has to be Arsene and co that make way.
they did a lap of honour after beating 10 man Leicester -- whats happened to make you think that may bottle it again?
Some people don't want to admit it, but everything that has gone wrong on the pitch has been because of Wenger. He isn't the type of man who can inspire you to win the league. He doesn't naturally come across as a very assertive or confident person and maybe that diffuses through to the players. I think, aside from the valid questions surrounding his in-game management, the way he sets his teams up, his training methods, the players that he buys and his persistence with the wrong players/lack of ruthlessness, a lot of it also comes down to the psychological battle - and the players don't seem to believe in their ability or their chances of winning this title. And I just can't see why. Leicester City have come from nowhere and are suddenly top of the league after fighting relegation the previous season, Spurs are running them close too in Pochettino's second season, whilst City have been very inconsistent, Chelsea have been terrible and United have been below-par as well. What more of an incentive do the players need to realise that, with all the stability we have had for so long and the other top sides falling short, that this was a huge chance to win the title? Not one player was willing to take the game by the scruff of the neck or tried to rally the players and motivated them to get back in the game. We only seem to be able to perform where there is little expectation on us to get a result - and that is totally unacceptable at this level because if you rely on the media scrutiny and the pressure being off in order to perform well, you're never going to get far. If today doesn't tell people that a change of manager is needed to turn our fortunes around, I don't know what will.
Have any of you thought that your team are not bottlers, they are just not as good as you think they are?
Well we are the third best team in the country now, so we are indeed better than most every other team, . And that includes United, despite today's loss, we will still end the season above United for the third year running come May.
Not sure about that Diego. To me it seems whatever bar is set, Arsenal will have that mental block to stay beneath it. Leicester are on 56 points, Arsenal are on 51. I guarantee you if Leicester were on 76 points right now, Arsenal would be on 71. It's just the way they are (perhaps bcos of Wenger).
I highly doubt we will finish below you, if anything, United have played good in the big games this season, other than the ass kicking we gave you, I don't think you lost to any other top 6-7 side. So don't think this win will start a new good run for you, it's much the same as before.
I don't see us going on an extended good run either, I do see you going on a bad one though Winters coming
