Sunderland go down with villa If Norwich win all their remining games they can over take leicester with 57 points (they have wins over Newcastle & Swansea) Which means Newcastle would have to win all their other games to get them to 57 (wins over Bournemouth & Swansea) Which means Swansea would have to win all their other games to get them to 57 (wins over Bournemouth) Which means Bournemouth would have to win all their other games to get them to 56 Which means mathematically we are not yet safe
We were all rooting for you. Valiant effort again and another narrow loss, no way are you guys deserving to be where you are, similar to us last season being on the wrong side of close games.
Good job fabianski was in form, Spurs could have had 6 or 7 I think they are going to win the league imo
I thought you made hard work of that considering your respective positions in the table. 1-0 with a very late goal? Hmmmmmm, nerves and pressure maybe. Albion's a midlands derby so anything can happen and Watford will NOT be easy.
Your concern for us is of course very much appreciated..... Have you come across the phase playing badly and still winning? Is it not the 3 points that matter? Any talk of pressure and nerves is laughable. We are showing up all the teams including yours who far far outspend us and we have a free shot at something we were never expected to do. We are playing for fun, not for expectation. Hardly a derby, two teams from opposite ends of the midlands who have their own rivals. Anything could happen at Watford but maybe you should be more concerned with your match away at West Ham and then against Arsenal in your Derby?
... there won't be any 'easy' games now ... Norwich set up with a back 3, two wing backs and 5 across midfield - a game plan to shut down any space and contain our attacking threat ... it worked for most of the game but the encouraging thing from our perspective is that we have a manager who is capable of changing things positively to combat opposition tactics ... and a squad with options enough to execute his tactics ...
John, this is an open forum on which other team's supporters can post on other team's boards. I know about West Ham and Arsenal and do not need reminding, I HAVE shown concern about our forthcoming fixtures. I just feel that you should have won it by more that's all. Birmingham and Leicester are both considered as midlands teams so derby qualifies in this case. Yes Fossel, you are right, they did go to defend but I still feel that as Norwich are struggling you should have won by more. This isn't hostility to you, just posting things as I see them and don't understand why others throw things back at the supporters of the teams who make comments. Thanks anyway John and Fossel. NO offence meant.
If only football was played on paper. I am guessing you did not see much of the game (if anything). Norwich "did a number" on the Foxes (shame it fell apart in added time). Even the Fox fans acknowledge Norwich came with a plan and executed it near perfectly. For that a bit more respect for Norwich should be given and not judging the game by the league table.
Im sure that none was taken, think we're all just happy we got the 3 points. It isn't like Norwich have nothing to play for, they need whatever points they can get at the moment. We were off the boil this weekend and Norwich came and played like we do, we aren't used to being the dominant team having to break teams down, but at the end of the day, we were able to stop their counters and get 3 points. Deserved or not (this time it wasn't), you sometimes haveto win dirty, especially if you want to stay at the top. Ive been saying for a few weeks that i think Spurs are the team that will knock us off the top, totally unstoppable in the league at the moment and would not be surprised if you beat WHU and Arsenal. Certainly wouldn't swap our next 6 fixtures though.
... none taken ... but Spurs lost at home to Newcastle, Man Utd to Norwich, Arsenal to West Ham, Man City to West Ham ... the point I'm making is that a team's position in the table is by no means a guarantee of the result ...if I spin that on it's hesd ... we've lost 3 games this season so far, at home to Arsenal and away at Arsenal and Liverpool ... so we are actually doing as well, if not better, than anyone else in terms of 'expected' results based on table position ... but I'll certainly not be taking it for granted that table positions indicate the relative ease of a game at this stage of the season where alomost everyone has something to play for ...
Spurs beat The Bubbles 4-1 at The Lane so the winning momentum is there but the Gunners match is always more speculative. Interesting points there but I feel you have to take league positions into account merely on the amount of matches played, goal differences etc.
In that case none taken either. We will take that win all day long. As others mentioned, there are no easy games and Norwich made it tough but we came through. In a way, we'd probably be better with your fixtures than ours but it's looking good for both our clubs right now so let's embrace it over the same clubs being up there. If we don't win, I'm sure most of us would want Spurs to
Swansea are only one league place above Norwich... And you ONLY beat them by one goal? Tut tut, I expected more... Disappointed, you should be worried...
