Playing Taylor and Rangel without any real wingers is nonsense imo .... Just because we lost by a single goal doesn't mean we shouldn't have lost by a half dozen.34 shots the Spurs had , Fab deserves a medal , as does Paloschi. Season after season we not only survived by pacey wingers but we excelled. At least Monk played wingers most of the time he was in charge . I'm not only guestioning Guido for his lack of pace on the outside , but I'm also starting to think Curtis was the one who started our lack of wing play and we got lucky here and there with him leading the team Barrow , Routledge and Montero need to given a chance to create WIDTH , it was our bread and butter up till now and we're living off crumbs these days . If we aren't going to play Taylor and Rangel/Naughton with wingers , it's time to go to 3-5-2 or 3-6-1 and play 3 CB's imo
If any team has done their homework on us then they will have no fear at all about conceding to us. They will be fully aware that once we score we go in our shell, giving them free reign of the pitch. Because of this I fully expect Arsenal to attack us with 10 men while its 0-0 for the first 10-15 minutes. Either they score by overwhelming us early, or we score and that gives them at least 75 minutes of onslaught to get 2. I would be confident if I was Arsene.
No offence to Spurs fans I really hope that the Foxes do it. About time one of the little guys made it.
4 great seasons including a major trophy and our highest ever finish playing wingers. 1 dreadful season playing a diamond. I can't for the life of me figure out why they are persisting with this.
After Arsenals loss at man utd i fully expect them to beat us in our game. They have a must win game to keep up the challenge and with their better players they should beat us comfortably imo.
Only two positives to come from today is keeping the goal difference down and paloschi getting off the mark...he looked sharp today. I honestly cannot recall one game this SEASON where we have gone 2 goals in front!?!?!?
Every week a little more belief comes but Leicester keep grinding out the results. We are a little guy!
Not having Montero on the bench, and Barrow coming on at 87 minutes, with a park the bus mentality is going to kill our game, if this is all Franco can offer then he'll not be here very long, disappointed that we deliberately conceded so much territory and possession, not the way I like to see us playing football, surely when on top you should capitalise with the momentum going your way, I know most were not expecting anything today, but with the right strategy we could have at least got a point from the game, feels we are seriously shooting ourselves in both feet this season, sick of the obvious stupidity to our game plan, and execution, why or why can we not make game changing subs as well, really pissed off with another missed opportunity..............
After we scored , the pressure started and increased by the minute against us . I try to never hindsight on the sub changes by a manager after the fact , but to not make any as we came under such incredible pressure HOPING the Spurs wouldn't score is the equivalent to an ostrich with it's head underground . I don't even care if the changes turn out wrong , but just make an attempt to change things under such overwhelming waves of attack while showing little confidence to repel those attacks . One of the most depressing games I've seen after taking a lead , how Spurs didn't score earlier and more is beyond me and it only made it more painful for me being teased into hope till late .
For over a decade we have achieved our best results by playing attacking football that made extensive use of pace and width roofer, now that seems to be a thing of the past, our coaching staff seem clueless to revert back to what we do best, or are they plain stupid?
I'm at a low at the moment. It seems we are constantly repeating ourselves on this forum - it seems obvious what is wrong a lot of the time. Most seem to think we stand more of a chance with wingers. All agree we shouldn't be sitting back . The problem is that the management this and last season seem to be on a completely different page to many fans. Am I the only one who is tired of saying the same things game after game ? I'm all for giving people a chance, but after todays lack of action I'm positive that Guidolin is not the man for us. It's just such a fundamental difference in what I want to see from my team that I don't think it will ever change under him. Peace Out.
