Time Charlton ended this experiment - I was sat next to 4 of them yesterday - constant comments of "I don't recognise any of the players" etc.

A totally bogus and futile experiment - these people are not Charlton fans, they are tightwads looking for a cheap afternoon out.

How many of the extra 7,500 tight wads will come back next season and pay £25 to watch Scunthorpe and Bury ?

To add insult to injury, just about every one of the plastics either left early 'to avoid the traffic' or streamed straight past the protest oblivious, keen to rush back to Blackheath and warm up in front of their Aga.

    Pathetic.

I was glad the family I usually sit next to weren't there yesterday. I was able to move into their seats to escape the 2 5/6-year-old kids behind who sat kicking my seat.

R.E [good contacts in the ticket office] reckons there were about 7,500 'fiver fans' there yesterday.

I wonder what % will come back in August in League One.

    Dare I say it.....2% <laugh>

Does that include the 3,000 Reading fans who also paid a fiver ?

Sadly, I reckon KM will see the whole thing as a success. Fans who watch the football, don't recognise the players and get out before the match (and the protests) end. I imagine the only problem is how to get Charlton down to a level where they can charge a fiver every match as quickly as possible. The fact that the plastics last week won't go to watch us play VCD while groundsharing with Welling will sadly be way beyond her footballing brain.

Somebody on the train afterwards said She'll use this as a selling point now- seven goals for a fiver. Many a truth spoken in jest......................

The Meire Marketing possibilities are endless... how about

"Come along to Charlton and see 3 new foreign loan players every week"

with the way attendances are going it is likely to be that away fans will be offered the west lower (katrien can then be among friends) and the slogan will be "come and see your team beat Charlton in the comfort of our west stand". West upper can then be closed and re-opened when the away team can bring a big following. Thereby increasing revenue. The other stands will be largely empty. KM will feel safer.
