Nice to see Pop back at Sunderland.

Just been appointed as chief scout to replace Ricky.

Welcome home Pop...again. Is this the fourth or fifth time he's been at the club?

I think he jined us either 3 or 4 times as a playerat least twice from West Ham and once from Carlisle. I think he was also worked as a coach in the past.

True Sunderland fan born a stones throw away from the Roker End. Wanted to sign for us as a kid but for some reason he was picked up by them up the road as a school boy. But he found his way home.

I still think he was the best uncapped forward of his day

I used to love watching Pop at Roker Park, def one of my favourites. I would fondly slap his baldy heed if I saw him today

Pop was born in Sandringham Terrace next to the Fulwell end. He was a real striker.

Yes he as the best goal poacher I can recall. If you add up the distance from goal for every one of his goals you still would be in te same half.

What a fabulous player he was...Let's hope he can teach some of the current squad to put the ball in the back of the net..

Washy you must must be a canny thrower if you can throw a stone from the Roker End to the Fulwell End mate.
