I'm ever so slightly leaning towards Quigg just because i think Frampton is underestimating him, However its far from a confident selection as they are both very talented. As far as bets in it i've just done a few silly ones: Frampton to win round 1 @ 66/1 Frampton to win round 2 @ 50/1 Quigg to win round 1 @ 40/1 Quigg to win round 8 @ 25/1 Quigg to win round 12 @66/1 Just a quid on each for a bit of fun
Money pouring in for the draw in tonight's big dust up. THEY know! Think Quiggs in for a big shock if he thinks he's got the home support, wouldn't be a bit surprised if there's more support for the Jackal. Some following. Not overly confident, respect Quiggs power but I just think Carl's a bit classier. Just hope he keeps his cool, and let's his boxing shine through. We shall see. Gwaaannnn the Jackal!
I think you've hit the nail on the head there beefy. If Frampton keeps his cool his class 'should' see him through but if he can't maintain his discipline and it ends up a scrap that's where it gets interesting
If he hadn't have been decked twice by some Mexican 'bum' I'd have seen him as a certainty tonight but that did make you think a bit. If he gets into a slugging match if wont favour him anyway!
I think because of that Mexican bum that's the only reason this fight is happening. If Frampton had come through that fight better then it might have been Santa Cruz, Donaire or Rigondeaux he was fighting now. McGuigan never wanted him to fight Quigg but his last performance has sort of forced the issue. I think if Frampton loses tonight he will find it harder to bounce back than Quigg will if he loses. Rightly or wrongly I think Quigg has always been viewed as an over achiever where as Frampton has been built up as the next big superstar
Thanks for the link smokey I'm on both to get knocked down, and quigg to get knocked down and win, and jackal to get knocked down and win. Gonna be a tight old fight I do think frampton will win tho!
Should be a cracker lads and whatever side of the fence you sit at least this is a genuine clash of world champs at their weight class and a steadily simmering rivalry to boot. I havealways rated Frampton and think the kid is class but Quigg has improved with every fight in a similar way to Hitman Hatton a few years back, so with the Manc support it could end up really close. May the best man win with no bullshit, but I've said it before- a rematch in Belfast beckons and Beefy- look out for an interesting scorecard IF it goes the distance- as you rightly point out. Hope it's a cracker lads.
That might be a dodgy stream smokey. I got a Norton message saying it had blocked a fake something or other. I think I'll follow the live text
It's on BBC. Radio 5 Ron via the BBC website. Mike Costello is one of the best radio commentators too.
