It's exactly the same problem for both teams, the fans having to leave work early to arrive early at the ground, but because one involved Liverpool & the other involved Man Utd you have made 2 totally different judgements on the situation. The TV has nothing to do with it, the majority of people are home for 6pm anyway so the audience will not be massively affected. Its the inconvenience caused to the match going fans that makes the 6pm fixtures crap.

My work hours are 8am - 4.30pm, I don't know of many people in a normal 5 day week job that don't work somewhere in between the hours of 7am - 5.30pm.

Peak tv audiences aren't at 6pm as there are no good programmes on at that time. The viewing figures for the six o clock news are still 5 million+, which is a much larger # of viewers than BT Sport get for any of their games.
